borus Report post Posted April 9, 2010 I have Don Smith's book "Ride It" and Bernie's book, no better way to understand where trials came from in the 60's and 70's and early 80's. I still refer to both books today. cheers

martin belair Report post Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) Look at page 46. Bernie's is bunny hoping 14 people on a Bultaco SherpaT. Remarkable. I would like to see one of todays' top riders attempt that. Edited April 11, 2010 by Martin Belair

toofasttim Report post Posted April 11, 2010 (edited) Look at page 46. Bernie's is bunny hoping 14 people on a Bultaco SherpaT. Remarkable. I would like to see one of todays' top riders do attempt that. Funny that Martin, I used to able to bunny hop over a 5 litre can standing on it's end. Can't do that on a modern bike. Maybe the suspension has changed. Maybe I'm just a plonker. Edited April 11, 2010 by TooFastTim

Martin, when I was a member of the AZ club (CAT) in the early 70's was it you and one other Montesa team members that came over and did a school for us? I know how impressed we were, the majority of us were very new to Trials. Anyway I looked for a pic of you in the book, but could only find the NATC Champ results for 1974. Sorry for the bad copy. Team California was leading the way. After I posted this I found some old snap shots for the school. Its was conducted in Tucson.
