April 18, 201115 yr Hello i'm riding a Rev 250cc /2007 and would like to buy a new evo. I'm thinking off an 300 Evo 4-stoke and would like to know iff the 4-stoke runs more silent than the 2-stoke. In Belgium the 4-strokes are realy hard to find. What is your experience? Greathings Luc
April 18, 201115 yr Author The 4 stroke is quieter. Thank you for the answer. In Belgium there are not a lot of places where it is poussible to ride. A quiet bike would be nice for me. Greathings Luc

April 19, 201115 yr The four stroke is quieter than the 2t buy quite a lot if you keep the original exhaust system..... and they are surprisingly power full in standard trim.
April 19, 201115 yr But 4T exhaust sound travels "better" than 2T's. It seems quieter when both types of bikes are sitting beside you, but once they head into the bushes, the 2T exhaust sound disappears faster than 4T's. Try revving both bikes in the woods the same far-ish distance away (can't see them far haha). I can always hear the 4T over the 2T. It all has to do with the characteristic of the exhaust sound. It's not just a matter of simple loud or quiet.
April 21, 201115 yr Add a Bosi Arrow Exhaust to the 4 stroke and it sounds mean. Here is Steve Saunders making it sound nice!
April 21, 201115 yr Author Thats a stupid & pointless exhaust on that video clip Yep, way to loud...i would go for the original exhaust. Greathings Luc

April 22, 201115 yr 4 stroke noise does travel further. If a 2 stroke bike & a four stroke both record, say, 100 Db on the sound meter, the 4 stroke will be heard from a greater distance. However i do think in this case a standard evo 4T is pretty quiet.
April 22, 201115 yr Thats a stupid & pointless exhaust on that video clip The exhaust isn't on purely for the noise, The power is improved a lot, Proably a bit to much for most, But If you want it, With the Arrow Box you have the extra grunt needed. If you ride in an area where people really do not like bikes, Definatly don't put the Arrow box on!!
