If you are asking because your fuel pump won't fit into a Mitani tank then you will need modify the fuel pump bracket. There are a couple of older posts that might give you some leads on what needs to be done:

http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/13178-flat-tanks/page__p__119839__hl__+fuel%20+pump#entry119839

http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/14480-4rt-pump-mod/page__hl__%2Bfuel+%2Bpump

Also there used to be instructions on how to modify the fuel pump on:

http://www.montesa4rt.nl/

but looks like the site is being re-constructed, so you might need to contact the owner. He did have some very good engineering sketches.

Not heard of this -anymore info

It's a much smaller fuel pump, about half the size of the original, weighs 195g less and with the mitani/future base, hose, fuel tank, saves about 1 kg. I have a mitani flat tank and future billet base, was thinking about the fuel pump, but was hoping to get the small pump from a different source as its rather expensive

Thanks for info, but been there and done that, good bump for new 4rt owners though :0)

I'm looking to loose 3 KG off me bike for under £1 K and 5 KG off me by saving a grand in pies, drinks etc ;0).

keep us informed - have had a replacement pump of Munch for lots less than the full Honda price but not seen a smaller pump anywhere.

PS

Had the fuel pump fault occur twice but resolved by degresaing a cleaning sock filter attached to pump. Now have 2 tanks (std and flat)

and 3 pumps all functiong ok.

PPS

Have been fancying having a go at fabricating a pump base to both reduce weight and gain some fuel capacity lost by flat tank but not started yet.

Made my own flat tank from a std tank for about £40 including paint and stickers

On a side note has anyone ever been able to source a replacement filter for the pump?

Had a quiet few hours on this project and came up a blank - Munch was also going to look into it. I thnk these filters are dual layer with a coarse outer layer and a very fine inner layer.

Surely these filters should be a replaceable item, or is it a case of replacing an expensive pump, just to get a clean filter?

"If I could get the serial number for the small pump"

There is nothing written on the small pump only that it is a Keihin pump, If you look in the manual at the specs of the original pump then you have all the information for selecting a replacement smaller pump, but i did not succeed in finding one.

Diam original pump 38mm, small pump 31,35mm

length org pump 82mm, small pump 70 mm
