February 19, 201313 yr Just so the stuff is easy for you to find. 1990-1994 wiring Diagram: http://www.trialspar.../Moto90to94.jpg General Info (discusses ground locations and how to test the stator among other things): http://www.trialspar...INFORMATION.doc General Tech Page: http://www.trialspar...a.com/tech.html
February 20, 201313 yr Author Hey guys. I, back onshore due to bad weather so I'm spending some time on the bike today! I'm going to try everything suggested and will hopefully see a result Many thanks for your help. Its really appreciated.. Keep tuned... Once again... Will it run???
February 20, 201313 yr Author Sorry guys.. I fell asleep! Haha, Digging it out now. I'm going to remove carb and kick it over with plug out, once I'm convinced its dry I'm going to put some fuel down plug hole and try get it firing!
February 20, 201313 yr Author Right guys.. Put fuel in the plug hole, fitted plug and lead.. Kicked over.. Nothing at all! Removed all the electric boxes so I can check wiring.. The fan live was broken, and I have come across a 2 connectors going anywhere.. Now checking the diagram so hopefully something simple!
February 20, 201313 yr Author Red to ignition coil!!! Not connected, I was gettngi a spark but wonder if it had loose connection so was weak!
February 20, 201313 yr c'mon, c'mon......I am sat here at work waiting for the beast to come to life.......
February 20, 201313 yr Author No chance the connector just come loose. Checked spark, I have decided its weak! if the gap if anything bigger than round the .5 one of the plugs are set at.. It won't spark! Come on guys.. What's next? Earth is good?
February 20, 201313 yr If the spark is weak after you are certain all the grounds are clean it sounds like you need to test the stator. It tells you how in the link I posted.
February 20, 201313 yr If it tests bad I am told new parts are not available for the stator on our years, you will need to have the spark coil rewound.
February 20, 201313 yr Author I only have an old non digital multimeter with me. I am not Daimler with how these work if I'm honest, maybe you can help.. On the black wire the multi meter just flies all the way from where it is in the pic, right across to the opposite side of the multimeter (it does the same when I touch both probes on ground!! Hmmm
February 20, 201313 yr Also you need to set the zero position of the meter. When you are looking straight at the meter using the mirror behind the needle (if you can see a reflection of the needle you are not looking square on at the meter) use the adjustment dial to set the needle to zero!
February 20, 201313 yr Author This is ghetto, I'm getting a digital one sent over. Can't you tell I'm young! Lol I should have it by 7-8 tonight so will b too dark to work, will crack on tommorow
