December 26, 201312 yr I know not technically correct, but just wondering if anybody has tried re-using the head gasket on Beta 2T, if it's OK. Thanks
December 26, 201312 yr If it was air- cooled, it would not be an issue. It would be risky to loose a cylinder from a coolant leak. But it should work in a pinch. Good Luck.
December 26, 201312 yr I have reused them successfully but also used a sealer. http://www.2wheelpros.com/permatex-copper-spray-a-gasket-9-oz-2359961.html?gclid=CJHr4_SbzrsCFYVlfgodQDMANg
December 26, 201312 yr haven't tried with a EVO, but have reused REV head gaskets over and over, never an issue. just make sure the black sealing compound is for the most part still there (some deterioration is fine). I just use a very light smear of high temp wheel bearing grease to help it seal but not enough so that it would squeeze out and get into the cooling system
December 26, 201312 yr Re using a head gasket is probably ok but it's got properties that only are meant to work once, crush and adhesion for instance I would use a sealant with an adhesive property, remember many gasket sealants become lubricants at high pressures Never heard of grease on a gasket, I have always believed in clean and dry to make the surfaces mate, grease would do the opposite and make them ever stick to each other
