January 10, 201610 yr Broke my master link on my 2015 Evo 250 during a rode today. Lucky my friend had a master link. Front sprocket seems loose. If I decide to get a new chain should I get a HD chain? Is there any x ring chains for trials. Also what size chain comes stock. Is the stock chain junk? Old
January 10, 201610 yr Fitting a HD chain will sap power Just buy a decent quality normal chain of a genuine brand like DID,from a recognised retailer Beware of fakes from China
January 10, 201610 yr The chain size for most trials bikes is 520 (except for some small engined or older twin shock bikes) http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/topic/58263-recommend-me-a-chain/ DID has got a narrow light X-ring chain, the 520 VT2
January 10, 201610 yr The stock Beta chain is of good quality, better than some other manufacturers supply. The front sprocket does tend to wobble about a fair bit on the Evo, but seems the norm. I have witnessed some local riders over-tightening the chain on Evo's, for some reason it just seems a bit more fiddly than normal to get the right slack, but take your time adjusting it and run it loose is better than tight.
January 10, 201610 yr Author Maybe I'll just use the stock chain awhile longer then try the did narrow xring. Thanks for the reply's. Old
January 10, 201610 yr You may find the X ring wants to carve a groove in the crankcase. Trials bikes tend to run a close clearance round the sprocket.
