April 16, 20179 yr This on behalf of a French chum, could anybody please tell me where you might be able to buy a Piston for a Tlr 250 70 mm ie. original size bore. Thanks .
April 17, 20179 yr He's only got 0.5mm oversize, which everybody told me would make the liner too thin! i ended up getting mine coated & it's quiet as a mouse now
April 17, 20179 yr I may have the chance to buy a TLR250 soon and had heared the pistons are rare. So....what coating did you get eagle8? , or has any one used a piston from something else which worked?.
April 17, 20179 yr I got High performance coatings in Leongatha to put there blue coating on which builds up the piston a bit, i vaguely remember someone saying that there is a Honda waterpump motor piston that works?
April 17, 20179 yr Definitely says 250 +.05mm! i don't think i've seen him sell 200 pistons, i was about to buy a standard piston but they seemed to sell out pretty quickly:(
April 17, 20179 yr Seem to remember a few years ago Paul Nixon (ebay paulccm) having half a dozen made by Omega pistons, some just a hair bigger than the originals to allow for bore wear. The OE Honda ones are apparently as scarce as hen's teeth. Looks like he's got a used one with a barrel but willing to split just now...don't expect it to be cheap!!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Honda-tlr250-Rtl250-Tlr200-70mm-Barrel-And-Genuine-Piston-Trials-Twinshock-Pre65-/132136993599?hash=item1ec3fa833f:g:lX0AAOSwSlBY1UIK Edited April 17, 20179 yr by craig10
April 17, 20179 yr Message for bashplate in Christchurch, HPC coatings in Auckland have been working with engine parts coatings for many years, I know they have coated piston crowns but have not heard of coating the piston skirt, perhaps they do this also. Here is their site www.hpcoatings.co.nz/ Bye, Peter B
