Montesa 260 4RT or Beta 300 factory. What to buy same price.

Featured Replies

Hello Guys,

i'm going to buy a new bike. The choice is between the new Montesa 260 and the Beta Evo 300-factory (4 strokers).
Both are the same price and i have no experience with none of them.
In Belgium there are not that much 4 strokers to try.

Thanks for helping me,

Greathings,
Luc

Hi,

thanks for the reaction but i would like to buy a new one and keep it for the rest of time.
Maybe i will buy afther a year of 6, 7, ... alo another one but i now that iff i buy it new
it is just like a baby for me :)  I just dont now montesa >< beta. Now riding a 2008 Rev4

Greathings,

Luc

4rt = fuel injection and Honda build quality.

Other than that I think you need to try each as some suit one and not the other .

Honda are offering 0% at the moment in U.K. ?

Thanks Jimmy. Greathings, Luc

Trials riding the beta turns way better and smoother power. And you get a lot with the factory. Trail riding the Montesa. The Beta fits a larger person better.

OK, i'll practice trial riding with steps, turns,...on i nice terrein and also do sometimes
trial riding in the Belgium ardennes or france. I'm a smaler person about 1m 74 lenght.

I think the beta is maybe the better one.

Out of 5 riders I ride with, 4 have bought a new Montesa after riding other brands. They seem to be 100% reliable but need patience to alter your style to suit the bike and conditions. Don’t buy until you ride both bikes as one will immediately stand out as better for you .I own a Montesa 2016, fuel injection on the bike has a high 1800rpm tickover, so it tends to break traction easier on slippery mud which you will ride in Ardennes.

Good luck with your choice.

next year there should be a whole new model from beta (2018 or 2019 at last). I think i will wait a year and
hold my nice Rev4. I love is but sometimes you want something new.

You get more for your money with the Factory Beta. Acklams have the last 2017 Factory 300 four stroke and it's still at the 2017 price. The 2018 ones are all going up in price.
