December 19, 20187 yr There should not be any play up and down, some maybe side to side. Even worse the earlier Sherco`s mains would spin in the cases.
December 19, 20187 yr Author Hi chaps,I've tried the bike with the new Reed gasket in and still got the problem..but it sempt to be miss firing abit now though on choke.
December 21, 20187 yr Author Evening chaps..the latest in my shenanigans..is this my pilot jet,and shouldn't there be a hole through it?

December 21, 20187 yr Author But it isn't blocked with crap,it's just brass, there's never been a hole through it,or so it appears..can't get my head round it tbh,I thought it was just a bung and not a jet..
December 21, 20187 yr The hole is very small (which makes it block easily) Soak it in carb cleaner / brake cleaner, blow out both ways with an air line. Guitar strings will clean it but this is NOT recommended. When you last put it away it was running ok ? It so, did you drain the carb ? No ? The fuel will evaporate and leave deposits / varnish, this is probably the problem.

I just can't get her running properly, when I blip the throttle the bike dies..I even struggle to get it to stay running on tick-over.I've fiddled with the mixture and tick-over screws to no avail. Up to yet I've checked the fuel, installed a new inline fuel filter, cleaned and oiled the air filter, had the carb ultra sound cleaned, all the jets cleaned, and checked the carb for leaks with wd40..someone has said it must be the crank seals..I've no idea how to check these so any advice would be much appreciated.!! I'm going to the Ilse of Skye for a week at Xmas and I really want to take the bike with me,so I'm starting to get abit worried ?..Thanks..Russ. Read agsin and again.
December 22, 20187 yr 9 0ut of 10 times the problem of all motorcycle problems is a plugged pilit jet.
December 22, 20187 yr Author I replaced the pilot jet,and all the others with new..no difference..so I'm in Scotland, and the bikes back in Derbyshire ???
December 22, 20187 yr Back to square one. The pilot circuit has two passages. One comes out under the slide, the other in front of the slide. These have to be clear and free flowing.
December 22, 20187 yr Author I blasted that with carb cleaner,it was clear..thanks for the advice though pal ?
