May 23, 20197 yr Hi, I wondered if someone could tell me the model of my fantic that I bought the other day? Looking to restore it. Need an engine for it as it's been fitted with a Honda 4 stroke. Mono shock Discs front and rear
May 23, 20197 yr Going on the front forks and mudguard if original looks like 91 engine size depends if there is a model no anywhere
May 24, 20197 yr Not worth restoring that better trying to fettle what you’ve got and just make the best of that .it might ride surprisingly well with that four stroke in it
May 24, 20197 yr Author Thanks for the replies! I'll just ride it then if it's not worth the restoration. Something to chase the kids about on! Cheers!!
May 24, 20197 yr Think it "was" a K Roo model. Gone a bit too far down the leftfield "modification" route unfortunately. Engine gone, USD forks not popular these days & overall not a popular model with the retro boys. If it runs OK, why not tidy it up a bit & use it "as is". Not worth going down the restoration route IMHO.
May 24, 20197 yr It's a fantic 249 or 309 (almost last of the fantic air-cooled monos) it's not a kroo, the tank and frame were different. A shame really but was probably changed as a much cheaper fix than rebuilding the original engine. As said by others on this forum its just not cost effective to put it back to how it should be, if it runs just ride it!
May 24, 20197 yr Fantic 309 Honda 4-stroke transplant is.....different. Not internally geared for serious Trials use, but good for......something.
May 24, 20197 yr Author Yeh certainly not geared very well for the tight, intricate stuff. Might go a wee bit bigger on the rear sprocket
