Dose anyone know how much oil to put in marzocchi shocks (each side) for a fantic 300 1984? and what oil?

Automatic Transmission Fluid

I'm just about to do mine too, I saw some where that its 90 to 95 cc of oil. Original I believe is 5w Bel Ray oil, but I'm starting off with 10w fork oil, as I'm of larger build!

Put the inner tube into body, then fill with oil.

Gently continue with pistons and seal housing and push rod all way down as that gives max oil displacement, then cap on and nip up. Test damping ensuring no 'loose' areas.

I guess it's gonna be a messy job and a bit of trial and error.

Why would I bother rebuilding the rear shocks b40rt? what sort of stupid question is that? if it was a show bike then I wouldn't worrie if there was any oil in them at all!!! you silly man!! or woman!

That’s a bit Harsh, I guess what B40rt is saying they are probably knackered. Most people just replace with new!

What you going in the Fantic forum ,you dislike (HATE) them.

Sorry - late to this one.  I just rebuilt mine - assembled them and filled with oil to within 140 mm of top of leg.  Pumped a few times and checked the level again to 140.  Work fine.  Alan.
