Hi all, My mono has a very weak spark. I have replaced the ignition coil, cap, plug. The readings for the source coil and pick up coil are ok and Im now thinking it must be the cdi. The next prob is where to get one from? Anyone else had this prob? Cheers

I need a new rear tyre for my recently acquired TY175. Can I use a Michelin X Light with an inner tube in it? Reduced unsprung weight being my objective you see, or am I going to get punctures constantly? ( I don't do much rocky stuff btw) Cheers Bill

Me and my friend are restoring what we believe is a 74 ty250 based on the design on the gas tank but we’re having a difficult time trying to find info on the bike. What’s the name of the engine and/or do any other bikes share an engine or parts, what’s a good place for parts or info??

After 16 years it's back! This thing endured my father, my brother and myself without any real engine work or maintenance. It just kept going. Some of my earliest memories are of my father sitting me on the gas tank and putting around the woods. I still remember back when I was 12 or 13 and kicking it over for the first time and taking off in the woods for the rest of the day - my dad's rule was that if I was big enough to start it, I was big enough to ride it. I've spent the last 2 years slowly dismantling every piece, painting the frame, rebuilding the engine, etc. Thanks everyone. This place was a massive help. I've gone through many years of threads lo…

I have a friend with a mint original TY 125 looking world wide for a mirror ( Round, chrome and stem ) . He has had no luck sourcing in France, could anybody point us/him in the direction, preferbly the Uk, if not further afield. Apparently these were particular to the Ty range unless anybody knows different. Thanks

Hi. I have an ongoing problem with the clutch on my TY175. In a nutshell when in gear and with the lever in, the clutch is not quite disengaging. There is the correct amount of play at the lever and at the adjuster behind the case on the left hand side. I understand there is a couple of different pushrod options with the TY. Some drawings show a Rod, ball and mushroom and some without the ball bearing. I’ve taken the clutch off and there is no ball bearing. However adding a ball bearing means that the pressure plate sits too high. I'm also led to understand that the washers that sit under the inner and outer baskets are different sizes. Could it be that I h…

Hi All, I am back with another question regarding the 1977 TY250 493 I am working on. I am in the process of replacing the crank seals and, I got the left hand side out with no problems, but the right hand side, the clutch side, is giving me problems. I got the crankshaft gear removed with no problems. I have to remove the clutch basket to get to the seal retainer. And I got the clutch plates removed, but I am not sure which hand thread it is on the clutch basket nut. Looking at the few threads that are exposed it looks like a left hand thread, which makes sense since the crank shaft nut was a right hand thread and these turn in the opposite direction. I have an Dewa…
