Whilst having the greatest respect for all the riders who will be competing in the British world round on july 31, i hope they are the one's that will be getting all the profits from the event. After visiting the web site i can't help thinking that some one is out to make money on the back of the trial, i just hope that the riders ride on a percentage basis. After all they are the one's that risk life and limb weekin weekout in persuit of there dream's. If this event will be live on BBC tv like the sport of Darts !, i would pay twice the ticket price asked. If the organisers of this event and the A.C.U. could get the TV Directors interested in this event, trials mite …

Has anyone else noticed that in post-event interviews and press releases, all of the HRC-Montesa riders are almost literally falling over themselves to state that their relatively poor results are emphatically NOT the bike's fault. From the Barcelona press release (there are many other examples - check the FP news): Dougie: "...I made too many mistakes and have again been left out of the final. It's disappointing, of course, but we are all aware of being involved in a very interesting technical project, and that apart from requiring constant work, we run the risk that the result could eclipse our efforts." Freixa: "...We all generally made the same sort of mistakes, as …

I just got this old computer up and running again, this is the computer I took to Duluth. This is the computer I wrote a world round story on for Cycle USA. This story never ran, nor did any other story about this World Class event in Cycle USA. The organizer made a point to let me know he had a hand in not having this story run in Cycle USA. It's a shame, I thought it wasn't bad. Not one word has been changed. FugiGas loves America FIM Observed Trials World Round June 5th and 6th Duluth, MN. by Craig Gernhardt How did this happen? Seven time and defending World Champion Dougie Lampkin from Great Britain didn't make it to the podium for the first time since May…

I am planning to travel to Hawkstone Park this July for the World Outdoor Round being held there.I need to arrange flights/accommodation/car hire but seeing as the indoor calender has already changed I was wondering how reliable the outdoor calender is or has been in the past.I don't fancy booking everything only to find the date has changed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

In answer to Doug's comment regarding his performance at Sheffield, i quote, ' I was obviously very disappointed with my performance but I was most disappointed for letting you guys down'. I hope I speak for the majority of trials riders in saying that Doug hasn't ever let his fans down. His 7 world outdoor and his 7 indoor titles bear testament to that. If Doug carries on giving 110% as we know he will then I for one will not feel let down, regardless of the position in which he finishes. Whilst he may not, at present, have a world title he will always be a true World Champion. Quite simply there isn't a current rider out there who can beat Dougie's 7 consequetive W…

Does anyone know if any of the European World Rounds are easily accessible via economy airline? I'm looking at trying to organise a lads weekend away. Hopefully funded by buying loads of cheap fags and selling them on return. ( In other words, Dabster, tobacco sponsorship is alive and kicking ).

Just got back from the Arena, here are some thoughts: a) The PA system seemed particularly poor this year- with about 10% of what was said perceivable Perhaps in part because of a) but also because of poor commentary "timing" the atmosphere wasn't as good as usual (even before Dougie bombed out) c) "Taddy" is a trick ferret d) Cabestany had arguably as much if not more talent at his disposal as Adam Raga, but chose more risky lines and was inconsistent, thus finished second e) Bring back the biketrial riders at half time (got to be better than "a word from our sponsor") f) Everyone moaned about Fuji not making a valid attempt at 2 of the sections, myself included,…

Why is it that the WTC runs during the most moderate seasons, Spring Summer and Autumn. Surely it would show riders true skill ability if the Championship also included the Winter months, from say January to September. It would be a real spectacle to see the top riders riding in frost, ice and even snow. The indoor championship could run from September to December.
