Just a question for all the different clubes out their about stolen bikes and problems in genral. I keep seeing things about stolen bikes pop up and it gets me to thinking about my club. The riders that show up to our events tend to come from all walks of life. The one thing they all seem to have in common besides motorcycles is being really great people. You could leave a $100.00 bill on the sign up table and at the end of the day it would still be sitting there. In fact there would probably be more money there because someone though it was for a collection. No one locks their vehicles or trailers during the event and it is not uncommon to have people borrow something d…

I'm about to apply for a French FFM comp licence and one of the criteria is that you must supply a doctors certificate, after a medical check up,basically to prove your fit to ride, another sign of insurance paranoia I suppose. Is this an ACU requirement yet I don't remember it being one but things might have changed. I was chatting to a friend of mine when he came up with an idea, just wondering what your thoughts on it are. The idea is this: To save time at timed trials (i.e. SSDT) could fitting a tube but not pulling the valve through and still running the tyre as a tubeless one work. If you got a puncture, or similar problem all you'd need to do is get rid of the old valve, pull the new tube valve through and pump it up. What do you all think?

I noticed on a todo trial topic they were still testing a full no stop electronic system on the HRC fourstroke Fuji was riding around this weekend. The fact they are still testing must mean the FIM do have plans to apply the full no stop rule sometime in the future. I also noticed no one could be bothered to attend the ACU open forum where clubs and riders could voice their concerns on rules etc. No doubt when a rule change does come about we will see many crying foul! who the hell thought that one up. The answer will be "we did" where were you ?

Join me in wishing Eric TY a happy birthday. Today marks Eric's 73rd year as a trials rider [would you believe he didn't start riding until he was 34?] You do the math. Hey there young man!!!! I tried your home number and it's not working so you'll have to call me to update it. Happy Birthday my friend!!!

Just seen the Dirtrider Expo advert in TMX. I've been the last few years and it seems to be growing every year. Last year when I went, I was considering a new Beta or a new Sherco. Beta didn't bother turning up - I spent a while talking to the Rathmells and after trying a few, bought a Sherco two weeks later. GasGas there, Sherco there, Montesa there, not too worried about Scorpa (sorry ) still no Beta. Is there a reason?

At a recent trial Michael Pillipson and Ian Austermuhle marked out a course which was designed for "Super Experts". The lads went up to the venue on the Saturday with the organising club officials and marked out a route, all be it for themselves, but also for others to ride and enjoy. Now up in the Durham, Tyne and Wear and Northumberland area we do have the likes of Michael Phillipson, John Crinson, Micheal Lee, Colin Ward etc who are all excellent riders but we also have the clubmen and novices. Without sounding detrimental a lot of the trials marked out in these areas are struggling to mark out suitable courses for everyone. WHY? It's the old addage of not being able t…
