Bedlington Motor Club will be running the third edition of the Alwinton Two Day trial on the weekend of the 22/23 June 2013. Alwinton is a small village in rural Northumberland about 45 minutes North West of Newcastle. Each year the club has worked with local farmers and the Forestry Commission to extend the course. The Club would like to have an established two day trial and are hoping to attract riders from around the country to enjoy our event. This years event will be a single lap on the Saturday and a two lap trial on the Sunday. Saturdays route will be 30 sections including streams, shale, quarries, rock outcrop and even a little mud. There will also be a lunch …

  2. Sometimes it’s not just the course that helps to make a grand day out trialing in the beautiful Derbyshire Peak district but the weather can turn a grim day into a grin day and last Sunday 26th was most definitely a big grin day for the riders who came along to Dudwood Farm to support the Peak Classic Trials Club who held Round 4 of their club championship at this ever popular venue. For once the going was dry and grippy which meant that concentration was paramount because a lazy 5 could destroy your chances of a good result. The Expert Twinshock category was very closely contested and a slack 5 nearly cost Simon Hiscock, Fantic, the win as he was challenged by Ian Marg…

Another classic trialling weekend graced by brilliant weather. Many thanks to Midge and the team for all their hard work. Great atmosphere and very well supported by Southerners who really make an effort to come. A few Irish too. Well done to my fellow Wobblers all bar one struggling to the finish.

What a good ride out that was. Short lap at Warmden makes for a bit of queuing but doing 100 sections in an afternoon is good for the concentration! Cheers to Darwen for organising and for the observers for sitting in the fog and rain from 2.00 until 7.30!

  8. What a difference a month makes ? Last months trial it was touch and go if we could run or not due to snow and after a lot of shovelling the trial went ahead. This month we were blessed with almost perfect conditions with bright sunshine and dry grippy rocks the order of the day. A good turn out of 50 odd riders were treated to 4 laps of 10 sections comprising of rocks, sandy climbs and the odd stream section thrown in for good measure. All that this very popular venue is renowned for. Best ride of the day must go to Ian Margetts who piloted his Fantic to record a superb faultless performance on the Expert route to easily win the category. Truly a masterclass performanc…

  14. With the UK experiencing an unseasonably cold and white Easter weekend many events being cancelled due to the snow it was heartening to see that Peak Classic Trials Club managed to run round 2 of their 2013 Club Championship thanks mainly to the sterling efforts of the clubs trials secretary Paul Beswick spending two days at the ever popular Stathams farm venue clearing snow and gritting the access road to ensure that the eventual turnout of 40 odd riders were able to enjoy a days trialling in the Derbyshire Peak District. Ten sections were cleared and laid out and riders completed four laps in the sunny but bitterly cold weather. Even though the sections had been mostly…

  17. Well just thought I would post an update about Sundays trial. As far as I am concerned I do NOT want to have to cancel another round of the Club Championship this year so I will do my utmost to ensure the trial this Sunday goes ahead as planned. The only problem may be the access road opposite the golf course as I am reliably informed that the main Matlock to Chesterfield road is clear. However there is only so much I can do on my own. I will be going up there all day Friday and Saturday from approx. 11.00am to try to ensure everything is clear to run the trial but if anybody can find the time in their busy schedule to come and give me a hand I will be most grateful as a…

  18. Started by westyfield7,

I entered my first "Sammy Miller" round last weekend down in Devon, a 500mile round trip. It was a bit of a baptism of fire as have never encountered such slippery, claggy mud and much respect to the guys who went round for low scores as I really struggled to find grip. I understand the club couldn't use their usual "Vic Ashford" trial sections but I really was disappointed with the continuous muddy going. The trial ended with just one section in a clear rocky stream..heaven! Is this typical of a West Country trial or was I just unlucky with the timing and weather? The organisation, scenery and friendliness were first class and would love to return.. a highlight bein…
