Hello - just found this excellent forum. Have a pre 65 Matchless and Rickman Metisse in the garage. Done a little enduro with a KTM and 25 years of road riding. Looking for advice on best (gentle) events to consider and ideally like-minded enthusiast based in London / Hampshire with whom might share transport etc...riding either bike 100 plus miles to an event does not strike me as too clever... Fantastically keen but little idea where to start - open to ideas.... Jonathan

Hi Just a quick introduction, I have posted in the Oset forum before. Dad to 4 boys. 6yrs, 4yrs, 2 yrs and 1 yr (and another one on the way) We have 2 Oset bikes, a 12.5 and a 16 pro. Hello. I have a few friends who ride trials but until now I have resisted the temptation to join them. Now, after 34 years of road riding I have decided to get my first trials bike. Cunningly, I have waited until I have a bad back, arthritic hip, and 3 stone of surplus weight before taking the plunge, so my (and everybody else's) expectations are quite low. Nevertheless, my last two outings have been fantastic, and the people I have met have been really helpful. I think I'm going to enjoy this.

After a 15 year absence I have decided to dust off my TY175 and try some vintage events. At 64 I hope I can still geterdone! I also have a 82 WhiteHawk TY80 conversion that I brought back to the states after a tour in the UK with the USAF. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it as a Kit and put it together one I got home. The WhiteHawk has a 20X2.75 frt tyre and is in need of replacement, but I have been unable to locate one. If anyone knows of a source I would appricate it.

At school (long time ago), the teacher told me to say: "how do you do", when you meet English people... already spend some time around reading (I tought, that's a "lurker" in English, isn't it?) I believe the community here is quiet international, but now Andy can add a number in the Belgian departement. Started with trials +- a year ago, and sowly the light is getting brighter Since a couple of months I own a Beta 4T, so the 'BETA' topic has my special attention. See (read) you around... Chris

I am new to the trials scene, so I have some questions! What brand of bike would you guys recommend for a starter? I have road dirt bikes for most of my life( I am 36), so I am not new to riding. Most of my riding has been done in the woods. I don't have a trials dealer of any kind that is very close to me so that does not come into play. I am thinking that with the internet, and a parts manual, that parts availability should not be a issue. Another question is tire pressure. I notice that in the videos and pics that I have watched, and looked at, all the bikes are running really low air pressure. I understand the reason why, just don't know how low do they go. Th…
