Introduce Yourself

Created by request - a place for new users to say hello before diving into the melee!

  1. Started by rockrabbit,

Hello everyone, Richard here. Temporarily misplaced Oregonian living in Alaska. Just getting into trials bikes and running into winter real fast! Just picked up a GG 280 (2005) a couple months ago and still working on learning how to ride it. Used to do a lot of enduro type/ single track riding in NE Oregon (20 years ago). Can tell already that this bike is going to be a BLAST!

Just wanted to take a moment and say "Hey" and introduce myself. I'm 28 year old Devin Byerley, a ME tech at Xerox in Oregon, and a n00b to moto-trials. I have a Monty Mod trials bicycle that I have been thoroughly enjoying and just picked up a 1986 Yamy TY350. I grew up on a TY250 dual rear shocker and the 350 will be my first monoshock moto-trials bike. Glad to be here!! Devin

Just introducing myself. I am a road rider, turned green laner now working down the cc's and up the mud content. I am completely new to trials - I have tried a couple of apparently gentle events on my XR400 but it wasn't a good (at least in my hands) so I'm on the look out for a TY250 (i'm told that at 16st+ I need the extra ccs). I live in Bristol (UK). Cheers Andy

Just a quick post to say hello, My names Scott, I live in fife and bikes are my passion. My stable includes sportsbikes, supermotos, Motox and I've been tinkering about on trials bikes now for a couple of years. I've got a bullet proof 02 Monty 315, which I bought to see if I would enjoy this 'slow stuff' and I have just purchased an 04 Rev 3 270, which is giving me no end of grief so I'm now heading off to the technical forum for some help. Cheers folks, Scott

Hello from North Texas. I've been lurking around here for a couple of weeks and decided to go ahead and join the other inmates. This is a really nice website and I'm glad I came across it. This past weekend I picked up an "experienced" Yamaha twin shock TY250 and I'm looking forward to having some fun with it. About 40 years ago I learned how to ride off road and have done some trials before but it's been several decades past. My riding the past 30 years has all been on the highways. Having said that, excuse me if I ask some simpleminded questions from time to time but I'm willing to learn and this looks like the best forum to do just that.

Hi I am restoring a Montesa 80cc frame number 32M00045 it seems to be difficult to find information on this bike, Most of the montesa dealers say that it doesnt exsist. it is based on the montesa 200 cota. I have a 200 which I have restored. Does anyone know the history of this bike. I would be glad of any info.

Hello fellas, I have been lurking around here for a few weeks whilst I made the transition from Moto Cr*ss to trials. I have found the info and advice here Fantastic. The Moto Cr*ss bike is sold, and yesterday I bought an 06 sherco 250. I hope to be taking part in trials competitions in a few weeks after setting up and getting to know my bike. Was wondering if anyone could direct me to my local trials club. I live in the West of Newcastle upon Tyne. Best regards,Mark

Hi i am new to trialing and wanted to know which bike to get for my 12 yr old son, i have been offered a gasgas 125 for a very good price but understand he might not be able to compete till he is 13, but apparantly some clubs will let him compete at 12 on a 125cc i didn't want to buy a 80cc only to have to buy a bigger one in a few months. Many thanks
