Well, It's only courteous to say hi before I leap into forum land. So hi! I'm Mike. 42 from Leeds. I have been away from bikes of any kind for 20 years and feel like having a go again. I am probably worse than beginner, but have had my appetite whetted by the trial I attended today at Home Farm in Tong (West Yorkshire, UK). I'm sure you'll become sick to death of me asking too many questions to which you will all know the answer. Forgive me for knowing nothing, but I am a quick learner and keen to know. Cheers all. Mike

Just thought I'd introduce myself, and ask a few questions. First off, the introduction.... I finally picked up a 1999 GasGas TXT270 a couple weeks ago after being harassed by my sponsor (GasGas Pacific) for way too long about getting into trials riding. About me, well, I'm 23 years old, mechanical engineer, live in beautiful BC and love riding motorcycles! I started riding 9 years ago, then started racing harescrambles about 7 years ago. In 2007 I race the ISDE in Chile but DNF'd when the top end seized after a mix up with fuel (straight gas in a two-stroke is BAD). Last year I again raced the ISDE, this time in Greece. I had some mechanical issues (tire balls wen…

The bike is road registered and i do greenlane, But around cobham more greenlanes are getting closed. Can anyone help? Paul

I'm lurking in here to learn a bit about trials. I'm doing a bit of research for picking up my first trials bike. Been riding off-road for many years and want to give trials a go. My intention is to get better obstacle skills for the bigger bikes, but who knows I could get hooked on this. Great site!

Hiya been a member a while but not had a bike till today got a '99 txt 270 and loving it its not bad for the age, plently of compression, needs a good jump to kick it over, only issue with it is the brakes the back was squeeking all the time unless i tapped the lever, and they're both pretty poor in power, i was exspecting quite sharp? more like my ktm. so i stripped the rear caliper, and removed one piston but couldnt get the other out, and it was only just moving, either way i popped it back on the bike and spent ages bleeding it after a loss in consentraition ment i sucked some air in. finally after cracking the MC banjo a couple times and bled it regular, as i cou…

Good morning all. I'm a "newbie" to this site - I live in Tanfield which is a village in County Durham. I have been a motorcyclist since passing my test in 1963 and have had a bike of one sort or another on the road ever since. A 1962 Triumph Tiger Cub has recently been added to my stable. Here's a shot :- Cub I am looking forward to using it as much as possible and am exploring local green lanes and bye ways whenever I can. Martyn

Been in touch with the Ebacorum trials club via email, just trying to source as much info as I can for now. I'd like to get a cheap bike, max

Hi all, Based in South Island NZ. Have an old Aprillia TX 280 (still not working) and just bought a TY250 (Scottish) and found the forum when looking for info on the bike. I guess it was designed for the SSDT? Trials competition here is more limited than in the UK but there is a good local group of enthusiasts so looking forward to trying the bike. We now have a good dump of snow on the hills so it will be my first snow trial! Or is that trial by snow? Cheers Iain
