Hello, Just getting the virtual beers in, I've swapped over to the "dark side" aka Trials from Enduro. The KTM 250F was flogged (before it went bang, but with a new piston in it.... I don't flog duff gear) and a rather tasty '07 Gasser 250 TXT Pro was slotted into its place in the garage. Currently time is my foe, or should I say lack of it (and the pants weather), the GG has been up & down the drive and that's it in a whole month of ownership!!.... not good. I'm a member of the Manchester 17 MCC club and tend to marshall & set up at the enduro events when I can, I've marshalled one trial and spent hours stood in a stream... being a stickler for marks didn't bo…

Hi to all, I've always known about trials but never really rode the sport. I've owned a motorcycle of some kind since I was 13 (53 now) and raced in motocross and harescrambles formats but I finally got to ride a GasGas trials bike last October at NEOTT's event here in Oklahoma, Oktobertest, (a big thanks to Jason Shackleford of NEOTT, Jon Stoodley of JSE, and Dale Malasek of GasGas USA for the opportunity). It was a blast and I really worked up a good sweat playing on the bike, I also got to follow Pat Smage through all the sections, it was amazing the things he did on a bike. Now I've got the "trials bug". Anyway, I'm restoring a 1974 TL125 for my girlfriend and fo…

So after many years watching 'the Scott' and having an enduro bike - i'm finally getting a trials bike and having a go. I know quite a few people locally but not many on the forum Quick question though - which are the easiest classes of trial to enter and any idea when Richmond Motor Club will announce dates for 2010 cheers Mike

Hello all, to introduce myself, I am Mike, I landed back into trials late last year with both feet firmly back in "it". I had been away from trials since age 18 years (now a'herm 32!), a career in the (mainly) road bike trade, meant my weekends were no longer my own. After that got boring, I worked for the Ambulance service on A & E and the shifts never facilitated a return to trials until I quit in October last year. Life story over, I returned to trials with a few bangs last year and it was good to see some old faces and wobble round a trial again, albeit with chronic forearm pump! Anyways, those of you on here I know (from the trade or sport) and those I do no…

Hi im looking to get back into trials again, have not ridden for 14 years still have my old twin shock fantic and my old whitehawk that i got when i was 11 so im going to restore them, but im also on the lookout for an 07 sherco 250.. Been itching to get back into the sport for years, but lack of money, houses and weddings got in the way. If anyone can point me in the direction of a good local is place to pick up a used trials bike that would be great. I did have a 02 gas gas for a year and i bought that from a place in halstead i think but im not sure it still exists now?! cheers Ben

Dear All, Although strictly speaking this is not my first post, I thought this was the best place to put this topic. After a few years away from trials I got the urge to do a restoration of a twinshock, and as I used to have a TY175 back in the late 70's I thought a TY250 would be a good choice as I have a few extra lbs to lug around. I managed to pick up a reasonable rolling frame and engine in bits which turned out to be a matching numbers bike from 77 - 78 model year. So after 8 months and

Hi and a Happy New Year to all. Virtual drinks on me as the Newbie. Been riding trials competions for about 9 years on a 2001 Gas Gas 249. I then had the bright idea of a project bike so I've just got my hands on a Montesa Cota 349. Needs plenty of TLC but seems to be complete. I would like to get it back to 'as new' condition but unsure at the moment whether this is going to be possible without enlisting the help of the bank manager. The idea is to compete on it eventually.

Hey all, I'm 17 and own a 1994 GasGas trial, started riding motorcycles about 5 years ago and started practicing trials about a year ago. my brother used to be one of the best from the locals until the club closed down as there was no interest in trials here in malta. I am still a beginner trying to learn the hard way beacuse my brother doesn't have time to ride or teach anymore so its up to me to learn on my own. the toughts are that in a year time I will buy a more decent / modern trial bike which I'm not sure which one.Thats all I can say about me. Thanks for welcoming me here

Hi, just aquired myself a Puch Dalesman of '69 vintage, complete and comes with the original green log book, bought from Terry Sylvesters of Holmefirth in March '69. I learned to ride up on the West Yorks moors in the early '70's, Garelli tiger cross, Honda TL's, C15's (nailed together with wood screws by a spotty teenager, y'know the kind of thing),,even had a Dalesman for while back then, so my new aquisition is a bit of a trip down memoury lane, really looking forward to restoring it with the help of your knowledgable membership (been reading a couple of your threads on Dalesmans, reccomended to me by a good friend on the Buell website),,,so, any tips or information on…

Hello to you all thought before I started posting questions and eeking out years of knowledge I ought to bother to say hi. I'm no youngster (49) but fancy a bit of classic trials riding, I like playing in the garage and enjoy using my projects too. So far life has been on tarmac with old single matchless and 650 triumphs. My son is very much into the enduro scene and I admit that dabbling amonst the bushes and trees is my sort of thing albeit at a slower pace. I like many kids of the 70's scrambled around the local woods on old bantams and even honda 125's and found the challenge more satisfying than speed. Along came girls and jobs, and the bikes were parked and off r…

Could do with the dimesnions of a trials bike without the wheels on up to the fork tops if anyone can help. Hoping it'll fit into my estate car by dropping the wheels out and tilting the bars back, don't have to get a towbar & trailer then. thanks if anyone can help. HoggyF
