Good morning folks! Hard to believe that it's Thursday already, but it is, and from here the week just flies in!

The Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) is special in so many ways, and one such part of the event that makes it unique is the diversity of the competitors who take part each year. Indeed, the SSDT is famous for being that one trial of the year that enables amateur riders from around the globe to compete alongside, and to complete the same challenging course, as their professional heroes.

As the 2012 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) moved into the sharp end of the competition, Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) emerged as the new overall leader. Whilst the thirty-six-year old bemoaned his failure in the final group at Fersit today, when he unexpectedly stalled his two-stroke machine, the five times previous SSDT winner's daily total of six marks was still sufficient to put him clear of the pack. Dougie's tally for the week now stands at seven marks, giving him a three mark advantage over his closest challenger. Just wanted to say what a great job EK and G2F have done on the Observed 2008 book - it arrived through the door yesterday and I sat looking through it for about an hour before I realised I'd left the car and house doors wide open! The pictures are obviously stunning, but the layout and design of the book is beautifully done and really sets the pictures off. Good job all round - cheers folks!

With a good clean day, seems Dougie has surpassed Baldilocks today, while Baldi(Glenn Quinn) still holds a marginal lead over Carlos Casas! Good job man! Seems Ishy is riding just a bit behind the lasses, Emma, Becky, and Katy, typical! P.A. is guarding the rear, yet had a much better day today! Michael Brown has found himself in familiar territory at the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) this week in Fort William. The 25 year-old Gas Gas rider from Scarborough, who has so far been runner-up in the SSDT four times (in 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2011), starts day six in third place, chasing his first ever win. With only one mark separating Brown from second-placed James Dabill (Beta), and current leader Dougie Lampkin (Gas Gas) just two marks in front, today's final battle for the top spot will be closely fought.

Due to a cock up (It's not your year is it Dennis?) a friend will need a lift back to Glasgow to be at the Airport before 9.00am on Sunday the 13th. With the memory of narrowly missing out on winning last year's Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) still raw in his mind, James Dabill (Beta) is eager to exact revenge on 2012 winner Dougie Lampkin and his other rivals as he heads out on the first day of this year's event. It was with great regret that the decision had to be taken to cancel the second day of the Pre'65 Scottish due to the severe weather conditions experienced in the Kinlochleven area. It had proved impossible to lay out a route with rideable sections for the second day due to the amount of water on the course. The volume of rain that fell continually on Thursday and Friday resulted in the majority of sections being raging torrents, with feet instead of the normal inches of water in them!
