Hi all I recently rode my air cooled gas gas for the first time. I bought as a complete bike but have had to do quite a bit so far such as fitting an 18mm kickstart shaft and a pedal and clutch case to match from a JTX model. I noticed two things in the 30 mins test. 1. It gets very hot, the tail pipe is almost too hot to touch where it exits the middle box so i wonder if the timing is retarded too far. I seem to remember they kicked back a lot but this doesn't. The second issue is the bike has quite a flat spot at 1/4 to 1/2 throttle, this may also be timing related but the bike has a noticeable induction noise. The filter box is the proper one but the lid has been d…

Hi, I am currently rebuilding a TYMono that has been paired to a Rushton Chair. Its a full strip down, powder coat, replace all bearings etc. It has been converted to a twin shock on the back end which I prefer for the chair use. A few loose ends I am hoping to box out whilst the frame is off being coated: 1) Does anyone know any UK retailers who do front fork springs. TY Trials, SM and InMotion don't seem to list them and the Magicals website said it was going to be back up on 1 Sept but is still down 2) Has anyone replaced the expensive/moulded rear mudguard with a stock replacement available from the sites above. I am pairing the bike with a shedworks tank and seat …

I have searched the forum but all posts relating to parts are years old, I have found Joel's site but it's in French. Before I embarass myself with emailing them, does anyone know if they reply in English. I'm mainly trying to track down a rear mudguard and perhaps a set of rings. I only have half of the Mudguard as it has been trimmed short but I could re build the missing part then prep it and take a mould so I can replicate some in grp but I would rather have a good plastic one also. I have googled till my fingeres are sore, I did find them on a french site but they are no longer in stock but they do have usefull other Jcm parts. Here's the link if it helps anyone e…

Hi all, I have just purchased a TY250. When it arrived the numbers indicate its actually a 1986 TY350 frame and engine bottom end with a 250 barrel and head. What are the differences in the bottom end of the 250 and 350 engines? Do they use the same flywheel weight and gear ratios? For example I thought the 350 had a heavier flywheel? Regards, Peter.

Are there anny specialist dealers for AC mono parts in Europe? i am looking for specific parts for a Fantic 305. Just mounting new footrests was a lot off work as i am trying to keep it as close to original spec as is posible. So this means no welding to reposition the footrests and as litle modern parts as posible. Personly i am a strong believer in keeping a classic original, i think that is part off the classic trialsport.

Well, since the A/C Mono forum has gone a little silent, I thought I'd throw something in for us to chew on. This 85' TY350 has been in the family since we bought it new and I like to ride it at our Vintage events in Non-Comp, just-for-fun class. It has become a test mule for my wild-hair, "hmmm, what if we did that?" brainfart projects and has been modified so many times it starts to whimper when I walk in the shop door. Photos are of a couple of the latest changes: I revalved a Works Performance shock, added a steel-braided line and a adjustable remote reservoir. The intake is a one-piece reedcage/manifold I made several decades ago and uses early CR125 dual-stage r…

Hi All I have a TY250 Mono ( 1985) that has the original foot rests...As they look a bit small and battered I would like to know if there are any replacement pegs that could be used? Looking where the originals are mounted..it seems even if i cut them off, there s minimal space on which to weld after market hangers... Just looking to see if anyone out there has done any mods??? Thanks

Just wondering what ratio people run ty 250 monos on? Manual says 50:1 or 80:1 depending on brand. Also I was thinking of running fully synthetic if there's any advantages?

Hi All, Anyone know anything about air valves on the top of my mono forks? They appear to be the same size as tyre valves. I assume they are meant for loading etc. A pal of mine says they may be majesty. Any ideas chaps?

I was just wondering if the only difference between the Ty250 and 350 is simply the engine size/bore? I can only get hold of a workshop manual for a 350, and wondered how relevant it was to my 250. Looks pretty much the same, but my friend said that once about a girl he met in Thailand...

I have just picked up a TY Mono which is going to be paired with a chair (new challenge for next year!) I am sorting a few bits out and noticed that the rear brake pedal flop's around due to excessive wear either on the shaft or the housing in the frame. The current pedal looks like it has been built up with braise. I can get a bush made up but first I want to source a replacement pedal. I can't find any UK suppliers stocking any on the net? Or do people buy other ones and modd them (if so what one??)

Does anyone know how much and what grade of fork oil goes in the 89 240 Europa. They are 35mm Marzocchi so I presume they could be common to some other bikes of this era. Also I was told that removing one of the baffles from the main exhaust silencer was a good tuning mod,has anyone tried this?
