I'd like to point out the fantastic support that Southern Califorina Trials riders and clubs have given to our Youth Trials Team. Over $5000.00 dollars have been donated and raised to get Team Califorina out to the Youth nationals for 06. To date, this young team has won all 3 Trial De State national team titles! Beating every other state team in the nation. They have also won more individual age group national titles than any other team. Southern Califorina has put more effort into youth trials than anybody in the nation! Not only have the kids worked very hard but the parents and fellow club riders have been totally behind these amazing kids. A speical mention must…

Firstly, this is by no way a knock against any events, just an observation, of what I have seen happening over the past few years, any nationals that I have attended in this time have all been great fun events, and some I didn't attend would of probably prooved my observations wrong. Using myself as a gauge in National trials events I have noticed the scores dropping, to the point if you have a single dab you are likely to be beat. I know it isn't my riding that has improved, but rather the sections are just getting easier. The last four rounds of the US series, some support riders have ridden three events for the sum total of three points. I know many of the same ri…

There it is Gentlemen. The official challenge from the beav himself. I'll take the challenge. Where and when do you want the ride off? How's this: The Plonkers season opener in Lucerne the third weekend of Sept. I'll have my knee reconstructed May 2nd and I'm not supposed to "compete" for 6 to nine months so Sept. should be long enough to recover for your sorry asss. Start the betting now Men!

So, my question of the day to those of you with kids, please ask them, Who is the World Champ in Trials? Do they Care? I know my son has no idea, and could honestly care less, then again, he had a choice between going fishing yesterday on the big lake and running around in a bass boat and going riding and he went fishing. I have to e-mail my daughter to ask her if she knows, but, I better check myself becuase I am not positive.. To those of you that have no kids, Does who is world champ influence your trials riding at all? Would it / does it, influence what brand of bike you ride?

Do you think that a World Class Indoor Trials Championship could be as popular in the U.S. as SX? I think it could approach SX levels. Witness the instant popularity of EnduroCross which has alot of trials DNA in it. I just read that Jeremy McGrath signed a big deal with NBC to promote a $500,000 invitational SX type event to be held in October. This event is supposed to have some unique twists to it and not just be a SX race. How about piggybacking on something like this? What about an indoor style trial being held outside at the MX outdoor nationals? Captive audience, motorcycle people, interested MX competitors, raffles, demos. The local trials clubs could do what the…

Andy, I have a suggestion. Since about 80% of the posted topics on "Across the Pond" turns into Lane making some unrelated remark against the NATC, why don't you give him his own category. That way it will not clutter up the Across the Pond forum. AND In that way people who wanted to read this type of stuff could easily find it. Any suggestion for a title? Jack

People always rag on Lane but can anyone explain to me why no Americans can even remotely compete on the World Championship level? We have 280 million people, vast wealth, huge landmass, and at least some intelligent people. Nonetheless, our best rider chooses not to compete on this level for whatever reason. Our young people don't aspire to become World Champions. I can find no reason that we should not dominate on the world stage like we do in MX. Maybe instead of demeaning Lane we should examine some of his thoughts as to why this is! He may be like chewing on tinfoil for some of you but he may have a point or two worth examining. I hope it isn't the NASCAR mentali…

Haven't been around for awhile to bash the beave [or should I say, beat the beave?] so I may have missed some bench racing regarding the new guy "half a tire right" I'm just wondering if anyone has commented on the noser he's doing on the TY? I guess I should ask him myself: Hey HATR, is that pic of you? I'm trying to remember if I was able to do that with mine... way back when. Great pic nonetheless!

  18. This weekend saw the first two rounds of the PNTA championship get under way. I ventured up there with my two boys for the weekend not quite SSDT terrain, but still time well spent on the bike. Good fun weekend as usual, although I can't remember a PNTA event that wasn't. Wilson Craig came out of hiding to win the champ class both days, but the surprise of the weekend was young Keith Sweeten, at 13 riding the PNTA top class for the first time claimed third place on the APEX mont, well done Keith. Photo courtesy of Barb, the rest of the photo's from the event can be seen at this link to the PST site. http://www.pugetsoundtrialers.com/photos-p...-06_connell.htm

Somehow the AMA NATC Rules have an error that is hereby being corrected: In section 6.B.9, definition of Failures, the words "without forward motion" are to be removed. The effect is that no rider can push a stalled bike out a section without receiving a five.
