Hello all, I recently acquired a 1966 Greeves Anglian. It joins my other vintage trials bikes a 1960 Greeves Scottish and a 73 Ossa MAR. The bike is in really good condition and upon purchasing it it turned over with spark. A good start. Chrome Dunlop hoops in good condition. The seat and fenders are also in good shape. It has a homemade silencer and looks like Girling shocks. It had the original Villers s25 carb which I have a bit of experience with from my scottish (which now uses a Mikuni carb). The barrel is a 32a and the primary inner and outer is from a 36A. I got her to run with a bit of tinkering on the Villiers carb. The spark is pretty weak but she ra…

That time of the year again, the March Hare is on this Sunday. Really looking forward to it, just hope the weather is kinder this year, the snow was a little harsh last year. Should be a good turn out for the big bikes, just hope the new number plate arrives in time. Anyone else there on the day?

In a previous post i informed as many as i could about Alan Whitton having his van stolen and that inside the van was the Bantam rolling chassis he had on show at Telford as a showcase for the parts he sells. Alan didnt have any photos at the time of this but someone has kindly responded to our request for a piccy so that hopefully all Trials Central members can keep an eye out for any scumbag trying to move it or any parts on and then notify us or the Police so that these parasites can be caught and hopefully delt with. Remember your bike or garage may be next if we dont do something about these pirahas. Please have a look and keep your eyes open if you are offered anyt…

Sorry to post this in this forum but i've just had a call from a distraught Alan Whitton who this morning has had his van stolen a white Transit connect LWB reg NC 56 KKN now Alan is less bothered about his van because insurance will sort that out but inside was his Bantam rolling chassis that he had on his stand at Telford show along with some Triumph Tiger Cub heads and various parts. Alan dosent have any photos of the rolling chassis and needs some for the Police so if ANYBODY has any piccys at all of the Bantam frame from Telford show could they please either post them on here or let me have them and i will forward them to Alan. Obviously if you know of anybody offe…

I've just watched a copy of this 1950's/60's DVD from Duke Video and it's fantastic. The commentary is by Alan Jeffries and there are many famous faces passing through the sections. It would appear that feet up didn't used to be the idea though as getting through to the end seems more the aim. There is little finess on show and they must have been either boiling or freezing in their WW2 great coats and tweeds. Especially interesting if you live in the area. Worth every penny and still available at http://www.dukevideo.com/prd2124/So-This-is-Yorkshire-Trials-History-DVD

I know it must be difficult when fixing dates due to so many fixtures now and different organising bodies involved, but there are three date clashes for two of the main Pre65 road based series this year. The Miller championship and the Northern British Bike series. Both have events on 24th March, 14th July and 13th October. Both of the events on the 14th July are in Yorkshire so that is going to hit one series badly in terms of Pre65 entries. The Miller series is down to 7 rounds this year and for the life of me I can't understand why it isn't better supported by Pre65 entries, especially when you see the number of entries for Scotland. Two routes to choose from means a…

October 2011 I sat on Santa's knee and when he asked me what I wanted for Christmas, I told him I wanted my barrel relined. He said it was a fairly simple request and to send it to his little Elf to undertake the work. Christmas 2011 came and went and Santa's little Elf had let me down, no barrel, no liner, nothing. As Easter approached, the Easter Bunny reckoned he could fit into one of his lovely eggs if I visited the north pole to collect the barrel! I set off in the snow to collect it and pay for it, only to find when I got it home it would not fit the crankcase mouth. So off I went back to the north pole with it to get it put right. Once I returned again from t…

  19. Today the new rules for 2013 have been published in the RFME web page. A small "revolution". Handicaps, and more strict ruels for the classic trials, although modified bikes are admitted, they will have the highest handicap of 1,3. New rules as the sliders must have the original stands for the mudguards, modern stands will take the bike to a handicap of 1,3; and much much more. Have a look here: https://fedemoto.info/ImgFCK/file/2013/TRIAL%20CLASICAS/Reglamento/Reglamento%20RFMETRClasicas2013(1).pdf
