Does anybody know where to get the paper numbers from that you stick on the front of your bike? I would imagine there must be one or two organisers on here who can point me in the right direction. Cheers.

Its with great sadness I have to report that John sadly passed away on Sunday following a stroke the previous day. A great supporter of trials in the EASTERN centre and classic trials up and down the country and sometimes across the channel.. A good friend always on the end of the phone to offer advice and will be sadly missed, with always an opinion on what ever subject........not only trials. RIP

I know there has allways been a big debate about pre65 bikes, specially when you come to speak about the Scottish pre65. I would really like to LEAVE APART THE SCOTTISH PRE65 and speak just about the 21´st Century evolution of pre65 bikes, and were and when should this evolution stop (if it needs to be stopped...). We can see what both technical and sportive rules are doing to the modern trials; will this happen with classic, specially pre categories?? With one late entry, a full house of 120 riders, including 10 sidecars will start the Stratford-Upon-Avon Clubs Sam Cooper Union Jack Trial on Sunday 16th May. A round of the Sammy Miller Classic Trials Championship, the trial includes all the classic classes, Twin Shocks and Trail Bikes. First man away at 9.01 from Downs Farm near Bourton-On-The-Hill near Moreton-In-Marsh, the start will be signposted off the A44. This years 36 mile trial will visit many of the regular groups of sections on and around the Cotswold Hills and features two two routes at each section. after reading a lot of posts on here about lightening a cub clutch ive tonight lengthened the actuator lever on mine added a strengthening bar to it,and it works. Just waiting for a new clutch cable then im gonna drill the inner case to reposition the cable, and all should be sorted. The next job is to attach a engine breather but where does the end of the pipe on the engine breather run to,any help would be greatly appreciated. Another job is going to be fitting a wider swing arm,i love this hobby already. First trial on the 6th of may cant wait now.

There is a really good 2 day trial being held on the 20th & 21st May 2012 by the bexleyheath & dmcc called battle of burwash. its on a open permit for all pre 65 classes in East sussex. toilets and food cattering and camping available to everyone. theres more details and regs on Motorbiketrials.com i know its a bit late but if you know anyone whos stuck for a trial to do that weekend we would love to see as many pre 65`s & twinshocks as possible all welcome.

Dougie Cooper. It was sad news to me when informed by my brother that sadly Doug had past away a few weeks ago. Doug was a part of the “super hero” partnership of sidecar trial in the sixties. Ron Langston and Doug Cooper did more to inspire budding crews to take up the sport of sidecar trials during this time than anyone else. If this pairing could ride a combination to the standard they did, with ease, this was the sport to be in. Every crew just set there sights at knocking this duo from there pinnacle, but that pinnacle was high, and not many got anywhere near close to it, and when they did, Ron and Doug would just turn on the magic, and that would set the bar high…

just had my "thanks but no thanks better luck next year" entry form returned for 2012, oh well never mind, had visions of winning that one as well!. seriously how about upping the twin shock entries next year, maybe make it a three or four day event.

ive just bought my first trials bike a triumph cub,but it looks to me like it needs a wider swing arm sorting for it,does anyone have any drawings or dimensions for either making a new swing arm or modifying the original one,and does the engine have to be moved to the left to accomodate a 4.00 inch tyre so the chain runs true without catching the chain? any info would be greatly appreciated as i need to get cracking as soon as possible thanks in advance Dan

Hi all, not been on a bike for 15 years ish and very new to trials. I was looking at a more modern bike like 2005 or newer but i have just come accross a bargain restoration project locally and the guy just wants shut. Im in need of help please as i know very lkittle about bikes and a list of what to look for initially would be massively appreciated or if you could point me in the right direction to a thread or something. the bike needs a few bits which im aware of and ill list these with a few picks. Any one heading the Burton trial at Clifton on Sunday?. I am aiming to be there falling off my panther with great regularity.That's depending on if tossers round here have left some petrol in any of the garages.As my car is low on fuel and I will need some to be able to go.

Can anyone help me with what order the spacers/washers on the rear axle go on my Sherpa 199A . The bike has a speedo drive on the right side rear otherwise not sure what should be at each side. I have a manual but it is really unclear as to what goes where. Any help would be great or photos very welcome Cheers

What do you think of this? Came upon a 1971 Sherpa T basket case. Motor is shot (chunk out of case, wont turn over, etc) but the frame& wheels are good. I have several 74 TY 250 motors and was wondering if it would be worth the effort to put a yamaha motor into that chassis (providing that it even fits) ? Or try to make a Magesty copy? Any thought or suggestions? Cheers. Mike

Hi there, can anyone help with what wires go where on bultaco sherpa 350 T 199A. The bike has points and there are 4 wires coming from the ignition casing. red.green.yellow and a black which connects to the coil. I am not planning to have lighting on the bike so i just need some advice as to what I need to connect the wires too. I have a wiring diagram which is unclear. If anyone has any photos they could post up to show how they are connected, that would be great. I got the bike as an unfinished non running project, so dont know if it had any problems with its ignition system. Any advice would be great. Cheers

im looking at a bike on ebay as i want to get started in pre65 trials,i wondered if any one could tell me if these details are correct. Frame number is C15 33871 which denotes a 1964 model and the engine is C15 SS 3732 which denotes a 1962 sportsman engine. ive had a look on the web but still not sure,any help would be appreciated. thanks Dan
