Hi All well i noticed the clutch operating arm of my tiger cub was broken on the end where the cable connects to the arm and have found a stainless arm replacement online however as the pin that holds the arm on the threaded part is compressed on it will not come off. i cannot source the pin. is there a supplier that may make these? or is it a case of purchasing the complete assembly second hand or maybe having to get one machined. any have one for sale maybe? kind regards Neil

I've inherited a Tiger Cub from my late father. The old boy bought it way back in the 70s as a trialer and intended to finish it off. He died nearly 40 years later having nearly finished it and now it's time for me to spend the next 40 years carrying his legacy forward. My thinking here is that it MUST be finished as he would turn in his grave if it got put onto eBay. So here is what we have. 21" front wheel, Triumph Mountain Cub forks and yolks, points in the side engine with electronic ignition, Ray Small wider swinging arm, a load of standard bits, a good trials tank and tinwear. Sorry for the preamble and onto my question. How strict are they on eligibility?…

Recently acquired a 1963 Cub converted to a TR20 replica complete with 3TA forks. I am a relatively light rider (65kg) and find the suspension very hard and also noisy with the rebound 'slam'. I am toying with the idea of fitting progressive springs (and possibly rebound springs) ?? The legs have casting numbers H1119 and H1120 (possibly suggests sidecar origins ??) with what I believe are a red/white marked 464mm long springs. The units themselves feel smooth and tight so I'm disinclined to dismantle them further. Any experience, advice or suggestions for suitable solutions would be very much appreciated.

Hi Guys, i'm hoping someone might be able to help with a problem i'm having. I'm assembling a cub that i brought in (many) parts. I've had the crank rebuilt, cylinder re bored and I'm fitting a new piston. I've just reassembled the top end and found that when i turn the engine over it's getting stuck fast at tdc (or thereabouts). I've taken the head off and removed the pushrods. Then put the head back on (minus pushrods) - still fouling! removed the head and (at the point i met resistance) and piston is approximately 1mm above the top of the barrel. If i continue to turn the engine over (from when i met resistance) and with the head removed it travels another 2mm…

Hello, I could do with a bit of help if anyone can assist please My trials Cub, has a PVL electronic rotor connected to an Electrex world cdi coil pack, unfortunately the chap who built it is no longer with us, so there is no way I can verify this. The two instructions from each manufacturer state different ignition settings BTDC My question is: Which setting would be best to set the static timing, the Electrex world at 6.5mm BTDC or PVL 1.8-2.2mm BTDC? I am led to believe that the PVL has little or no advance till 7000 rpm, but the Electrex world has the advance built into the coil pack Can anyone positively confirm or deny the above Any fur…

I'm looking for a sump guard for my Cub. I've seen this snazzy looking thing from Sammy Miller...er made of plastic. Can I ask whether anyone has fitted one of these and if they are robust. I'm guessing the alternative is the steel one from Meridan offroad

Fitted parts to the cub as a dry run and found the swingarm bushes to be worn lateral play allowing swingarm to move side to side about 2mm.......have heard about a silentbloc conversion to replace the originals ...has anyone had the pleasure of fitting this type of kit ? link to kit: http://www.dcclassicmotorcycles.co.uk/parts/swinging_arm.htm Seem to be good quality .

Hi there! I am converting a street tiger cub into a trials bike. The bike was sittig arround the house for a decade, and never have time to start the project. After seeing a couple of tiger cub trials bike I decided to convert my street cub into a trials. First of all I want to do a quick mock up and start the engine as it is now (with the street gearbox) After that I will change the gearbox for more low end power and better climbing caracteristics. I alredy bought a mid 70's front fork from a kawasaki ke 125 and now I want to lace new rims to the existing hubs. I have a couple of questions for the more experienced here In first place I want to know if I can use a wm3…

Hi guys, i'm completely new to trial riding but thought i'd give it a bit of a try after buying a tiger cub in (many) assorted bits. I've no trials experience but would like to build an 'all round bike' that i can ride round the garden, green lanes and very occasionally go to the shops on. My budget is limited. I'm starting with the engine (currently dismantled and i've got two of most things!) and have got a couple of questions that i was hoping i might get advice on: 1) I've got two sets of gears one has got what looks like a standard 17 tooth engine sprocket (rear drive) on it with a very (very) hooked and missing teeth. The other set of gears look much clea…
