  3. Started by old trials fanatic,

As i was suffering from a bad attack of manflu yesterday i didnt take any piccys at the show Did anybody take any? Especially of the "works" 340's on the Bultaco stand? When i eventually get the James finished the next "project" will be to get the 199B Sherpa sorted and i'm sort of thinking about modding the swing arm and spindle so piccys would be great. Also be nice for people who could not make it there. I hate manflu. Should have been at Burrycliffe today i like Burrycliffe but feel So some piccys would cheer me up

  4. Started by old trials fanatic,

I have waited a bit to post this and thought long and hard about how to word it so that it doesnt seem sour grapes. Well been unsucessful so if it appears so perhaps it is a bit but i am generally interested as one of the clubs i ride at, which will remain nameless, apply tie breaks in what i feel is a strange way. Let me explain. I am not that good a rider but enjoy my rides. Sort of a midfield dabber and wobbler on the Clubman route. Now the other weekend i had a particularly good ride and all yes all the guys who always beat me had a bad day or suffered mechanical trouble. This resulted in this dozy old fart actually finishing on 1 mark lost unfortunately this was …

A friend of mine recently found a copy of Sammy Millers catalogue with a price list from 1973. Now for those of you around at the time, this was the bible for any "bling" parts for you Spanish trials weapon, with loads of lightweight goodies on offer However, how many can remember how much things cost back then ???? So, I have scanned 3 pages and for a bit of fun, take a guess at the 1973 prices of the following items.... 1. The Sherpa mudguard stays (Item FM2) 2. The Ossa chainguard (MAR3) 3. Plastic front number plate (BSM)26 4. The fibreglass slimline kit....this came with seat and an alloy downswept tailpipe 5......and finally, the Bultaco Highboy frame kit…

  11. Started by sir trial a lot,

Hi, Ive just bought a old Montesa to add into my collection of bikes but im unsure of the engine size and the year of the bike. Does anyone know anywhere that i can find out by the frame/engine numbers? they match and just incase anyone is so kind to do it for me they are, 29M02713 .... I know someone has literally just asked this question but the reply is all numbers beginning with 21M that made me double check and mine is definately 29M. many thanks.

Hey John You'll enjoy this: popped into the local the other evening for a pint and bumbed into Peter Williams of Norton fame. No joking. Very nice guy. BTW saw Peter & Jo last weekend.

I know this might open up a complete bag of worms but here goes..... The Sprite I am doing at the moment has a Villiers 32a engine with, I understand, a Parkinson Head and was once a 360cc. It has since been re-sleeved and is now back to standard bore as a 250 so other than the oversized cylinder head it appears to be a standard ally barrel. The question is; Which electronic ignition is the right way to go for trials? I have heard that numerous James, Greeves, Sprites, Francis Barnets, Saracens etc etc are running well on either Simon Bateman, Rax Caunt or PVL ignitions - can anyone point me in the right direction and advise the different characteristics that make one…

have a session on Google and came accross this excellent Austrian web site which along with some great pictures of Alta, Gaunt and Collier Suzukis, has (in German) some information on KTM trials bikes, with some pictures of bikes from 1975-77. Looks like there was a works team at the Scottish, but love to know if there are bikes around in the UK, or if anyone rode one ?

  17. Started by daved444,

I noticed a few comments relating to Big John no longer posting photos on the forum. As a new member I must admit I value any photos that members post so it would be a shame to lose out when actually it is a pretty straightforward process. This might help...... Dave Go to www.photobucket.com this is a totally free site and allows you to upload your images to your own personal album. Once you've registered, hit the browse option which you'll then direct to your chosen photo folder on your PC. Click on your photo and hit submit (give it 5 secs) Hey presto, the picture is now in your new album. To post the pic onto the forums you have to go to those three links …
