Hi Trials Central forwarded me an email from tilertriallwer - which had some interesting points - and I did a reply - but I have not got a clue how to send it ti him. here is no email address, so I am not sure how to respond. If someone tells me what to do in such matters I will do so - or at least attempt to.

Hi Guys For those that where following my previous thread "Bultaco Mechanic Wanted" ... am pleased to say the bike is NOW running and starting second or third kick ! ...wont go into to many details other than heres the final chapter ... but shortened ! 1. Last week the barrel went of to Dave R for a re-bore / new piston etc ...as there was so much wear it would just not run , it was still on its original bore size ! 2. This week and barrel is back + box of more goodies ready for assembly ! 3. Sat / Sunday ... Engine back together ... wiring mocked up to check spark with the new HT coil , its now very fat and blue ! 4. Sun afternoon , all fueled up ready for the big …

.. just been informed by by my "Team Manager" that this Sundays Pre 65 Inter Centre Team Trial at Mow Cop near Stoke has fallen to the foot and mouth outbreak. Apparently, several farmers whose land was to be used could not take the risk of the virus being spread by riders coming up from where the new outbreak has occurred.

Following the next event, which is a Championship trial, at Biscathorpe on Nov. 18th, the club are offering free entries to encourage the riders of "big bikes" and rigids to get their machines out of mothballs for the Beniworth Haven trial on December 2nd. Hi All ; I just got back from the North American Twinshock Championships and I have to say that besides having a great time and not crashing , that I got to ride a work of art !!!! a 1960 royal enfeild bullet ... although trimmed down to well under 300 lbs , and a work of art in everyway , WHAT A MONSTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you could plow feilds with this beast ! But I must admit it is the most comfortable trials bike I have ever riden , the stance can only be summed up as perfect !!! I am off to the Lincolnshire Poachers trial at Wickenby Airfield in the morning and just Googled "Wickenby" to check where it is when I came across this poignant reminder of our recent history. Now just described with a few statistics this airfield is lost in our memory but with Remembrance Sunday just around the corner it seems fitting to remember all those lost in war to give us the freedoms we now enjoy.. Well after rebuilding my 198 Bultaco engine [all new seals etc] and spending the last week carefully putting it back together and not even rushing the final assy today , the bloody thing still wont run ..... not a back-fire ...nothing ... zipppp ! Plenty of spark , fuel is there and am annoyed / fed-up / going back to 4-stroke & leccy start as soon as I get this bloody lemon going ! If anyone knows the ins/out of a Bultaco engine and can help , even if its "try this carb" I would be so happy to hear from you , am more than happy to bring the bike over to your garage ! It is with regret that the Hillsborough Club have taken the decision to cancel the penultimate round of the Classic series - The Hillsborough Classic , which was to be held on the 28th October .This is due to the concerns of the farmers, who are aware that this is a national event and the small risk posed by the fact riders will be travelling from across the country. Guys , after spending ages cleaning all the nasty flakey paint off my Ali cases , question is , do I re-paint* them or leave them clean ? Hi anyone can help me I am looking for trails clubs in the East Yorkshire area (near the Humber Bridge if poss). I am trying (money, kids, wife decorating walking the dog ..... etc permitting) to restore a Bulto 198a (has anyone got a 198a 250cc engine out there!!) and whilst it does not have the correct Bulto engine will be ready soon. Hi Guys Have a 198A 250 Sherpa , with all sorts of issues , has [i believe] a VM26 Mikuni carb which I think is ready to hit the scrap-heap , wrong slide cut-away [#3] wrong pilot jet #30 thats just for starters .... has had me going round in circles so going to buy a new carb , question is should I stick with the Mikuni or try something else .... if anyones using a VM26 , would love to know what your basic settings are before I loose it ! Next major issue is the "spark" ... had the Mag off today and the coils look like they;re been in a battle field and lost , lots of scored insulation on both coils LT & Lighting [not used] so they are knackered ... next question…

Guys Can you help , did anyone other than Sammy Miller make a nickel [or chrome] plated frame for the 250 Bultaco Sherpa 198 series ? Cheers Greg can post a picture later , but just wondering as I know Mike Whitlock did make frames for the TY's & RL Suzukis , did he ever build a Bultaco frame or was this always Sammy's business.
