Does anyone know how the sizes come up on the Gaerne boots? with Sidis (at least with the road boots) you have to buy a size up as they are stupidly small. But not sure with these if they come up small or large compared to other boots?

  3. Started by heffergm,

So trials pants appear to be sized using S, M, L, etc. I haven't a clue where I fit in the range, since it's (presumably) all relative. And since I cannot try anything on (there isn't a place that sells trials clothing within multiple hours of me) I need some help on what size to order. Height: 5'10" / 1.8 meters Weight: 140lbs / 10 stone / 63 kilos Any suggestions?

I want to update my helmet for a Carbon fiber one and I have two options, Mots Carbon and Hebo Zone carbon. Any experiences, advices???

It is probably a riding technique error but my Rev3 chain eventually saws a hole through my boot. The swing arm also looks polished in that area on both sides so I must hug the bike a little but never feel interference when riding. My feet are little so it is not a size issue. I had a leather patch sewn on but now it has sawed through that. Can anyone recommend a more permanent fix? Would some kind of plastic work?

I have never seen a pair in person, but are they any different than mechanics gloves?

Morning guys Im one of those riders that walks through all water sections looking/feeling for unseen obstacles, while the smarter guys watch and keep their boots dry. How do you guys dry your boots out? I hang my boots up outside but it takes close on a week to dry out completely. Any blower devices you guys have built that I could look at (pics) or other tips? Thanks guys.

  8. we've got quite a few new members joining the club so thought i'd whip up a quick guide for the club's website. posted here in case it's useful to others, but also would appreciate any feedback and suggestions as i'm still only one year into trials myself - thanks in advance. it's just meant to be for newcomers and avoids getting into specific brands.... New to trials? There's no rush to buy expensive trials gear and it's common to see new club members using the same protective gear they use for dirt, adventure or even road riding until they get an idea of what they'll need to buy. We will just cover the basics without getting into specific brands of gear. Until the 19…

Hey all- Every shirt I wear ends up weighing 10 lbs full of sweat on these hot summer days. Anyone got a recommendation for a shirt that stays dry (er)? Thought maybe something like Under Armour or something like that-not sure. I try to avoid the 100% cotton, but even the 50-50 shirts aren't immune to getting soaked and heavy. Thanks all.

Any advise on good gear to protect the shoulders, arms, chest and back? I have been using a Motocross chest protector, which is very restrictive, hot and clunky to move around in. Would prefer some downhill mountain bike gear but don't want the full suit gear. G-Form has some cool technology for their pads, which when hit, stiffen up to protect you, then go back to a more plyable state after...all on a mositer wicking shirt. Anybody thry these for Trials? Thanks Tom

Got a pair of these for my son. 3 Buckles, very flexible and comfortable (I made sure he broke them in before I tried them!), excellent insoles and a well-lugged sole that much resembles a Vibram hiking boot with excellent grip. Small heel with a gradual transition, not a step. $130 As much as I like my Novogars and the guy I bought them from, I sure would have been happy having the Thors for half the dough!!

I'd like to set up a small paint ball tank to fill my tires while on the road. Would carry the kit in my back pack. I purchased an adapter sold on Ebay that will allow you to get from the fitting on these tanks to a standard 1/8 NPT female threaded hole. From there you can add a gauge, quick disconnect, etc. I have some questions and am hoping perhaps someone has done this already. These tanks can hold many hundred of PSI's but my garage compressor is only good for around 120psi. If I'm using, say a 20 oz tank, would filling it up until I reach 120 give me enough air to top off most trials tires? That is, bring them from around 4 to 6 psi up to 16 or 18 psi for street…

I have been looking at getting some trousers for riding in. I don't really fancy forking out loads of money on the dedicated trials trousers, plus I'm not into all the colours, so wondered if any of you guys might have some tips for trousers? ...army surplus? At a classic trial a few years ago that I went to watch there was a guy wearing overalls! Thanks

I was after a bit of advice from any one who might of had the same problem! We are trying to find a helmet for my wife. In a Shoei road helmet she takes an XXS and it fits really nice. The current Shoei catalogue doesn't seem to list an open face helmet! We have tried Wolf XS too big, Hebo S too big. I know a trials helmet is never going to fit like a face helmet but we need to find something that doesn't fall off with the strap done up as the above sizes have done. Does anybody know of any helmets that might come up smaller than the one's I've mentioned?
