Managed to launch myself over the handlebars on Sunday and landed on my napper. I felt my head hit a rock pretty hard but it wasnt until I took my helmet off and saw the damage that I realised how hard the impact was. Out come - one knackered brand new helmet but it did its job as I sustained no injury other than aching neck muscles. Money very well spent and replacement Jitsie ordered!

Gaerne Boots are popular and for good reason. Very comfortable. One thing is the soles do tend to get chewed up, at least mine did. I posted about the soles while back. I bought some Shoe Goo, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it fills in the deep ruts left by the pegs. I grabbed a tube of it and filled in the divots. Let it settle in for 48 hours before riding and it helps to have a plastic disposable knife or similar to smooth it out a bit before it hardens up. Lasted awhile and cheap. Just thought I'd pass it on.

My last few trials have been in wet conditions and once my gloves are wet they get slimy and slippery. I end up getting arm pump and or very tired hands because of reduced grip. Using renthal Medium compound grips and I like them but they are for **** with slimy gloves. I've searched for this and did not see any recommendations. Anyone have a glove that is tacky even when wet?

I need to replace my old Jitsie trousers, which were the nearest l could get to what I wanted at the time. Is it possible to get a reasonably protective trouser these days? I'm not interested in either skin fit lycra or wearing cammo pants. I can live with colour but don't really want large lettering. Thanks.

I'd like to understand the advantage and need for trials specific trousers/pants. Not trying to be smart or a wise guy here...I am really asking to learn. The trials pants seem really snug and tight to the legs and hips. I understand we don't want extra fabric for no reason, so a minimalist approach is best perhaps? Are most of the pants water and sweat resistant? Any info at all on the pros and cons of a specific trials pant appreciated. Seems a decent pair range from 80-170 USD. Worth it?

Hi I think there's a gap in the market for guys like me. I use my Motesa for trail riding. I've got the fuel tank seat. It's just brilliant, so good at laning in fact, I sold the Exc-f 350 I had because it wasn't getting used. Nothing wrong with the 350 of course, it's just there's 300% more fun to be had on the Mont. I love the protection from my MX helmet, but I wouldn't ride the Mont with it now I have a trials helmet. Issue is that now I use a trials helmet I'm kind of waiting for the 'big one' that rearranges my face! Speeds obviously higher than trials (Mont will happily push 50+mph ). Going back to the MX helmet just reminds me of how restrictive it is re…

I currently have the gaerne oiled boots, such a comfy boot, but after a good soaking they become extremely soft and i nearly ripped my little toe off at the reeth, so has anyone tried the standard gaernes? Are they a little tougher when wet?

Anybody have solutions for fixing a sole that is wearing through from footpeg pressure? Would rather fix than buy new boots if possible. Resole? Shoe Goo? Flex Seal? Cheers

Has anyone purchased and used one of the new Wulfsport Tri-Action helmets? I'm thinking of a new skid lid and this one looks good but I'd be interested in the opinion of any users. I shan't be buying without trying one on as a I know fit is a personal and important thing so no advice needed on checking fit etc, tec, thanks!

Hello all, I am looking for my first trials helmet, I ride a KTM Freeride E and don't want to use a full face helmet as I get way too hot riding the more technical stuff. My background is MX and Enduro so I find the Airoh Stelt/Aviator and Fox V3 fit me really well. Based on this, I ordered the Airoh Evergreen which feels awful compared to my Stelt and have sent it back. I have a narrow head but fit a size large 59-60cm so looking for suggestions for a trials lid that is well vented, light and suits my weird (narrow) head shape. Was thinking the Airoh TRR as it is well vented and light but open to other suggestions, one more question are any Trails lids certified …

hi. i am 6"4 with a 32" inside leg. the xl trousers dont seem to be long enough on the sites, i will be buying online so trying isnt really an option. what are my fellow lanky riders using? i have a set of leathers that just about fit me but the sliders are a little too high, seeing as i am riding my trials bike more than my road bikes now i would like something that fits properly. not fussed about make or colour just something thats good. cheers all.
