Hello. I recently bought a 2000 cota 315r. The bike currently has a stock reed block installed with some sort of carbon fiber reeds. Looking closely I see that 2 of the 4 petals have a short nylon tensioner, and the other 2 petals have a longer tensioner. By "tensioner" I mean a small flat nylon rectangle which is about the same thickness and width as the reed petal, and is about 5mm-10mm tall. It installs between the petal and the reed stop. The bike also came with a Delta VForce-2 reed valve still in the box. Previous owner never got around to installing it. So my question is: since I've got the bike apart at the moment, should I go ahead and install the Delta …

I've switched to a 315 master cylinder- the problem is I can't get the clutch to work properly- the lever feel is as if there's air in it, but having chucked a load of DOT 4 through the system- it's still no better. I'm wondering if this could be due to the fact this fluid's been standing for a long time- it looks very slightly milky, OR is it that you need to bleed the clutch "bottom up"? Thanks

Hi to you all, a new user here so be kind and gentle to me! Returning to trials after an eight year lay off and my memory ain't what it used to be! Hoping some kind sould can tell me the correct procedure for cleaning an air filter on a 2004 315 Mont? Carried out some routine maintainance at weekend and noticed that when riding on the Sunday that my previously superbly running motor was not a happy bunny. Should I not have washed filter foam to remove the crap and in doing so have I re oiled it and if so how and what with? Cheers

Yesterday i answered a question that was really nagging in the back of my mind i flooded my 4rt in a stream. i had taken on water in a stream during a trial then went straight over the bars, the bike coughed and stopped i took the bung of the bottom of the air box lifted the bach wheel to empty it, really gently tried to turn over the motor, felt ok so gave it a kick,it fired straigt away and ran perfectly for the rest of the trial. stripped it out when i got home and could finde no water or muck in intake body put in a clean air filter and ran round the block a few times, maybe this fuel injection aint so bad after all???

  11. Just bought a good example but a few questions about my first foray into fourstrokes (good bit of assimile) after a 315 Mont Tickover seems low - I know 1800rpm is recommended but this one I would guess is about 12-13rpm and wants to stall. Seems like standard gearing on 10/41 - whats the best 10/43 or 10/44 (guess they turned the tickover down instead of correcting the gearing) Exhaust seems loud and has no rear end cap, so that'll be the reason I guess. Is the end cap necessary and if so, how much are they It's got the 315 clutch on it and wide pegs, so is pretty ok and hasn't suffered any rock damage So i'm going to do the fluids and lube her up and see how she …

  12. Started by sam,

My 03 Montesa has a very small radiator leak. As far as I can tell the leak is located at the start of the spout where you fill fluid. I have checked over and over again the cap, but that is not it, I'm sure its the bottom side of the spout right at the flush spot of the radiator, at the seam. I imagine the spout/cap had slammed the fuel tank in some funky way creating the leak. Any tips on what to use to possibly seal this crack? Or should I take it to a radiator shop? J&B Weld maybe. sam

  13. Howdy: I've just been out on (at last) on the bike today - generally really impressed....smooth off the bottom...only problem is the tickover... the bike will idle for a few seconds - then gets a bit lumpy and dies... If you turn the tickover up - so it's revving a little high.....it still idles for a few seconds...a little longer....then dies again? I'd had the carb off the night before - cleaned it all out......as the bike runs fine during the rest of the throttle response I'm guessing it can't be a jetting / air-fuel screw issue..... so I'm stumped... Anybody shed any light on this one...? Cheers

After reading a couple of posts on here I was wondering how long it will be until someone is in the unfortunate position where they have to adapt a carb to fit a 4RT. All you blokes that are fortunate to change your bikes every year or two will not need to worry, it's the ones that are buying a 4RT when they are in the

2000 315r $1900 Good/ok condition, plastics show some wear. no major dings or dents. This year, new clutch, brake pads, fork seals and skid plate. Last year all of the rear suspension linkage bearings replaced and new header pipe as well as new piston and rings. Has an extra 1 gallon tank, V-force reeds new in box, ryan youngs how to ride tape, another advanced riding technique tape and two other trials vids. It needs new chain and sprockets. Not sure but i think it also needs front wheel bearings and maybe steering stem bearings. It looks like it could use new rubber front and back. I'm guessing the sprockets and chain at $150 to $175, Tires $200?? bearings $50 to…

A few weeks ago i bought a PTB, everything works fine. With the software it is very easy to change settings, but what i miss is a tool for a comparison between two curves so you can understand the changes. After some thinking and debugging i have made a tool who can compare two setting-map's and display it in a diagram. Does any one else has thoughts about it ?
