Hi guys, I've finally got what I wanted, much to the wife's disgust, an 05 Repsol Montesa. It's done 40 hours and is in good condition. My question is, what's it going to last like? The front pipe has been changed to a Mitani one, the front two restrictors are out, and the mapping is set for maximum power. Does this shorten the life of the engine? As I ride at intermediate and probably don't really need all the power, is it worth softening it back down? I really like the bike exactly as it is and am riding better than ever so if the bikes longevity is not really effected by the settings then I'll leave it as it is. Thanks, Kevin

These polished parts are available here in germany.....6mm instaed of standard 5mm......more protection on flywheelside.... I think they are being imported by Steve Goode. Dont think they are too expensive eiither and I have heard they make 4RT dogbones also that raise the groundclearance by 2cm. Looks good dont it!

The symptons, 2003 cota 3 turns out and my motor knocks possible fuel starvation. 4 turns out and she turns my plugs dark after 4 hours of riding. This all happens after a well cleaned carb. My jets are 110, 60 and 33. I run premium gas 80:1 Is there much affect by raising the needle or lowering? Help!

98 315 never been freshend. is it standard practise to bore and replace piston or is simply replacing the piston and ring ect. the way to go? it's not a high value mint bike so what's your take?

Hi out there in trials land. I have just purchased an 06 Repsol and love it but whilst taking the restrictor out I have damaged the gasket at the end of the header pipe and muffler junction. I have been told they are not listed as a spare part through Montesa which seems strange as it is a service style of part I would think . Does anybody know where I may get one or two from ? Does anyone out there know of any alternative longride seat options other than the Mitani one ?. I'm looking to use my monty to travel 3.5 miles per day to and from work (i can do most of this off road on a green lane with a few nice little sections to play on . I would need to do about a mile on the road though , has anyone tried their 4RT on the road ?, or the longride seats ?. My other problem as winter kicks in is lights I'm almost sure it does something to the power if you fit them back on ?? anyone know know the score here (ferrett). I have some old small mountain bike lights that used to run off a battery in a water bottle. I was wondering if they could be run off the electricle system as most bikes come with a light from factory. the lights are 15 and 20 watts each, I think they used to run off 7.2 volts but really not sure on that one. would these lights be hard on my magneto? thanks for the help. I want to start night ridding soon and need some good light.

I'm finding the clutch a little unforgiving for a learner such as myself and was wondering if a master cylinder with a smaller piston would expand the current on/off clutch action into something a little more friendly. It's an AJP MC.

Recently bought the programmable ECU from <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central>, mainly because I wanted to slow down the throttle response coming off tickover. It's too sharp for my liking as standard. First thing I did was install the mild map and a Mitani front pipe and tried it the following day at our trial. Definite difference noticed straight away. Rode off towards sections and normally whilst in top gear just twist the throttle, gentle pull on the bars and up it comes onto the back wheel for effortless wheelies up the field. This time there was a slight lag in response and it needed more of a pull or higher revs for the same effect. …

I have just put a 43 tooth rear sprocket on my 4RT and now the chain is a fraction too short. Looks like i need a half link. Is this right? Has this happened to anyone else? How do you fit a half link? Will i need a special tool?
