Please tell me the differences between 01 & 04 315 bikes.I have the option to get either one and need your expert advice to help this decision.This website has been a great help as most people are not biased and are genuine.Thanks..

I've got a 1971 Montesa Cota 25 that I'm interested in selling. It's got the metal fenders and the tank is in decent shape. I do have an interested buyer here in Minnesota. Any suggestions for how to establish its value would be appreciated.

A few questions hopefully someone out there will answer. Why have the colour of the rims reverted to Repsol orange when at the earlier rounds they were a deep gold? On the handlebar mounted switch, used to alter the maps, how many settings and what colour LED matches each map. You can see the LED light on the videos of Doug and Fujigas. Can you buy 2006 Repsol 4RT plastics anywhere?

I`ve not long bought a 2003 mont ,and it came with all the lighting and a manual.It also came with some sort of locking device , after having a few garage breakins around here lately I wanted to make my bike a BIT more secure . It looks like the locking device needs to be screwed into something Anyone know how the damn thing works.

Help...further to my last post I have got a set of raceline dimpled clutch plates.I removed the original plates and fitted the new ones but now the clutch drags all the time! it will free wheel in neutral but with the clutch lever pulled in it will not free wheel if in gear.What have I done wrong? I think (pretty sure ) that the plates came out and went back in in the same order only with dimpled steel plates instead of the old ones?!HELP never done this before and thought that it would be straight forward enough! (to quote,"a ten minute job").

I am digging into my bikes first valve adjustment and have a question that those of you who have done it before may be able to answer. Firstly, everything is relatively straight forward, and relatively easy to access. The question comes from trying to find TDC. When I align the T with the hole in the cases the rockers do not move freely, if I rotate it another 360 degrees I still cannot move them. I have tried to slide a feeler gauge in at both positions assuming one of them is TDC, but it is really tight. Is it possible that my valves are so tight that I cannot get a feeler gauge in an TDC? Other than being able to freely move the rocker arms can I verify that I am at TD…

Anyone know an easy way to remove the paint from a 315 tank? I'm afraid to try any of the usual paint removers on a plastic tank.

I have just bought a 04 315R. I am having problems getting it to start when cold,it seems to be taking a good 15 minutes of kicking (choke on fuel on,then choke off tap off to clear cylinder..)then eventualy having to drop the bolt out of the bottom of the carb and drain before it eventually runs,then as soon as I put it in gear it leaps forward and stalls (but starts easily again!).The bike has been sitting at a dealer for a couple of months,is it just my lack of familiarity or is it just needing a new plug.Any help advice would be gratefully recieved! Can someone tell me if it is better to use mineral or synthetic gearbox / transmission oil in my 03 315R. Also which brand is best as I can't get the recommended HRC ELF oil.

OK, so besides the usual "keep the revs up" is there any particular technique to minimizing stalling in sections? I am a relative noob to the 4RT and get more familiar with stall thresholds every time I ride but all input would be apprecitated and will help reduce my points! Cheers

hi guys has anyone change the footrest hangers on the 4rt i feel it would benefit from further back and lower down any views cheers

couldnt workout why my airbox kept filling with dust particles and water, even after 2 new air filters and a new filter cover. found out that the platic had cracked on the seam where the lugs for the mudguard support brackets are, the split only became apparent when you aplied force to the bracket. sealed it up with some super sticky silicone, problem solved. also fitted some of those boyesen reeds, (thanks ff) what a difference, super strong midrange now and revs to infinity and beyond, no noticable change at low revs. excellent, cheap and easy mod. jono

Can someone clarify which spark plug to use in the 4rt?

Hi Guys, After returning to trials riding from many years ago. My son and I bought two Montesa 315r's. A 2002 and a 2004. Both have been lightly used, yet both have very unresponsive suspension. We see GasGas's hopping around like demented bunnies. Yet our Mont's stick to the earth like the tyres are made of BluTac. What can we do to put some life into the suspension?
