this is a question to all 4rt owners ,do you think the mont feels heavier when you get in a bit of trouble in a section than other bikes youve rode, see thing is i really want 4rt but at every trial ive been to ive hardly seen any monts let alone 4rt ,it seems round here gas gas is the most popular but then people say they fall to bits after a year same with the sherco ,so why do you think the monts arent so popular seeing as there meant to be bullet proof, surely if its a weight thing montesa could shave a bit of weight off,i dont know just seems a shame you hardly see any or maybe its just down here in devon , at the moment im riding beta 200 which im trying to like i me…

just seen the new repsol 4rt yesterday, open the crate and the only difference is the stickers! you have gotta do all of the upgrading yourself. but there aint half some fancy gizmo's to go with it, the alluminium billet footpegs weigh nout, the fancy carbon fibre bits also weigh nout, and look the business too. however the thing that struck me was that on the case for the fuel injection mapping C.D they call it by its japanese name!!! are they trying to say that they already have these gadgets out in japan? or that a company as big and powerfull as honda could not be bothered to change a C.D cover!!! i know its a minor detail, and the bike on the hole seems just fine, b…

How many 4rt owners have used a quick turn throttle? I have an aluminum quick turn throttle tube I threw on to see how it worked. Honestly I didn't notice any significant difference. Any other experiences out there? Wardo

:huh:I heard a story this week concerning a 4RT that snapped the internal stop off the kickstart mechanism, resulting in a trashed engine. The story went on to say that the local mechanic suggested a mod to Montesa and was dealt with very sharply. Has anyone got any more on this?

I'm collecting my 4rt today I,ve had the master cylinder changed to the larger 315 one and I'm going to fit some hebo footrests today during my set up. I've heard the standard bars are wider than renthals and some of you have moved footrest positions and changed gearlevers, rear brake pedals etc. Any chance of posting some pics or giving more detail on these mods please ?

Now that I have a number of hours on my 4RT I thought I'd commit some of my impressions to ether. Firstly, here in New England the bikes are fairly rare compared to the ubiquitous Gas Gas, Sherco and Beta armadas. After riding mine, I attribute this mostly to price, it isn't easy for people to justify the price difference between the 2t's and the 4RT. I am not sure the case can be made for the price difference, but I appreciate the excellent build quality, as well as the performance of my bike. I am an 45 y.o. intermediate rider who has been racing off-road for 35+ years, and riding trials allot for the last 15 months. I don't hop like a bunny, but floaters and medium…

I have recently bought a 4rt, and, even with limited time on the bike i think that it is superb , apart from the clutch, which i notice a few others have problems with. I may try the master cylinder mod but only if it has a different bore size. Anyhow, i was wondering which oils you guys use for the engine and gearbox? Any recommendations??

dose anyone know how i can make the clutch on my 4rt more progressive. i have already changed the standard master cylinder for the larger one, but still find it a bit instant, and hard to slip and bring in progressivly. the engine drive disengages completly the momment my finger touches the lever. i think i read somewhere on this site about cutting 2 mm off a part of the clutch but i cant find it anywhere. overall very happy with bike. sorting the clutch out will make it perfect.also have herd rumour of clutch changes for 06 model.anyone know about that?

Hi there guys (and girls), I have a Montesa 315 of the year 2000, and was wondering if anyone has had a 315 and tried different carbs. The bike runs perfectly, but the usual knocking is there sometimes when i crank the throttle from low revs (i'm told this is normal). My question is: Has anyone tried another carb on the 315r, if so, which one, and how did it go? I have a spare Mikuni carb. Thanks a lot. Pete
