I've got a 99 315R and ive found that when i get down to about half a tank or so, the engine leans out when i am going down hill. It seems to me that the pickup in the tank is sucking air due to the low fuel level and the angle of the bike. But i shouldnt really have problems until i get really low on fuel. If anyone has any suggestions or has had this problem, let me know. It recently cost me a five at a local event when the bike leaned out and launched me out of the section.

I have a Gas Gas and i'm going to change to a Montesa 4T. I've just looked on Sandiford's website and the last news article posted is dated Nov 2003. They don't seem too excited about the new bike. What is the service like from Sandifords in relation to parts and information? Gas Gas uk have always been brilliant.

I notice from the pics which may or may not be the 100% finished article that the new bike does not carry Fuji's name on it as the last few bikes have carried Dougs. As refering to the world champ , how come Doug gets his name on as worl champion and not Fuji , any ideas?????

Hi all! Trying to get the tap of my montesa tank. I have 2 8mm bolts that hold the tap to the tank. I turn either of the bolts and they just 'jump'. I need to get the tap off, but it isnt loosening off or anything. Any ideas? My guess is that the thread on the tank is...well...******. Thanks! HRC

Just changed my front sprocket from a 11 tooth (as i bought it) to a 10 tooth keeping the 42 on the rear (as standard on an 03 315), but the chain i took of was 102 link, as is the chain i have been advised to put on ! What chain do you use on a 10-42 set-up, with the wheel spindle set nearest to engine ? Thankyou. Gaff.

Just bought myself an 03 Montesa, and i have noticed if i work the clutch lever when the bike is not running, there is a knock from the engine, but this soon goes once the engine has been warmed-up, and the clutch is nice and smooth. I never had this on my 2000, or known of it on any of my mates Montesa', any ideas, do you think it is any thing to worry about. Cheers. Gaff.

I have a 03 montesa and was just made aware of removing the restricters! I have located one between the muffler and the exhaust box, but looked in the head pipe and seen nothing, must have been removed. I was told there is two more around the reed valve and carb, could someone be more specific of the location and what they look like? Indiana Sam.

Does anybody know of a source in the US for Mitani Montesa parts? They make a neat looking skid plate that protects the frame spar bottoms and it looks like it has thicker engine cushions between the skid plate and engine.

I recently purchased a 2000 Cota 315 in beautiful shape but not without a few (hopefully) minor issues. In the past I have owned a Cota 247 and an Ossa MAR but it has been 20+ years since I have had either of those. My plans are not to enter competition but just to enjoy having a Trials bike once again and to help keep my reflexes and coordination from going completely south as I get older. One of the things I noticed immediately when riding the 315 for the first time was that it didn
