    4Rt Rear Wheel

do any other make of trials bike rear wheels fit a 2015 Mont ? If anyone has a rear wheel for sale please contact me
  2. 1 down on the back is lower in my book ?
  3. Std gearing was very very fast thought I was road racing again
  4. Well a lots happened since I first posted this one thing that has stayed the same is I'm still crap
  5. springs arrived this morning, so the set up is new Pursang springs, 180cc of 20w oil and 10mm of preload and it feels a different bike have only ridden it up and down the lane tried to do a few stoppies but could not get it to bottom out, does not dive anymore on the brakes and seems to turn better will go for a practice Saturday.
  6. Done 2 more trials on it and had all sorts of trouble with the front end bottoming out (see picture in post above), so I have stripped the forks completely and for a 37 year old bike they are not bad at all internally the left leg is better than the right. I checked on the price of HFS expert suspension and it was £205 much more than I wanted to spend on a bike I will only ride occasionally, they never got back in touch with a price for the clubman setup ??? Magical seem to have disappeared up their own a%*e so thats a no go, so I had a long chat with Inmotion and I've ended up buying new Pursang springs with adjustable preload spacers, they reckon to start at minimum preload and 180cc of 20w oil and work up from there to a max of 200cc oil and play with the preload. If this fails I have a mate who has a set of 38mm Betor forks and yokes I'll try to fit and see how they go.
  7. Dont think I'm losing any travel ;-)
  8. I bought a spare clutch weight off eBay for £3 when I first got the bike meaning to machine it down but never got round to it. I have just dug it out the garage and weighed it 9lb its way to heavy for me to get offshore in my kit bag so I've dropped it at a local bloke who has a lathe in his garage and he's taking 10mm aside off the diameters and 15mm off the front face.
  9. Cheers Woody much appreciated, bikes packed away again as I'm back offshore Monday so I'll spend my nights away trawling ebay for a 250 flywheel and clutch weight. I'll remove the forks and totally strip them and check for damage when I get back, and I intend to rebuild using magical springs and caps. For info the clutch weight is case hardened and it can be machined quite easy using carbide tips, once underneath the hard outside skin they are soft cast steel.
  10. I've got electronic ignition on it already I just need a lighter flywheel, best do some research this trip away with work.
  11. where did you get that from ? I intend to take the clutch side weight to work and machine quiet a bit off that to lighten it which should make it spin up faster.
  12. The bike was a non runner when I went to see it, all there but just would not run, I bought it cheap (stole it really ) got it home cleaned the carb fresh fuel and she started but ran like a bag a s***e. I have rebuilt the engine and split the exhaust re-sleeved and packed it and had both shot blasted and painted so the engine and exhaust are spot on now apart from I dont like the slow pick up (but I have plans for that over the winter) The bike came with rock shocks so I have serviced them and re-sprung and shimmed to suit my weight and they work fine so it's just the front to sort now. I'm not bothering doing up the frame as I want to ride it not look at it and be upset if I crash and damage it (which I will on a regular basis). Might put a alloy swinging arm on it to save weight and change out as many heavy steel parts as possible. I did not ride trials till 4 years ago so no I never competed in the 70's
  13. Beta forks with a disk now that's a good idea ride it in the twinshock class sit back and watch the old farts whinge " Meanwhile, thousands of other people have not fitted different forks to their Bultacos, and continue to get great enjoyment from riding them that way" Am I not allowed to be different ? its my bike my money and my time
  14. Thanks for the replies 180cc and 20w oil was recommended by one of the twinshock shops and also by the Bultaco workshop manual, I was advised to up the quantity by a very experienced twinshock rider to help out with the forks topping out and it helped. The head bearing are fine and nothing is loose I think I'm just struggling getting off a Factory Beta on to a 37 year old bike. I'm not trying to recreate a straight from the factory Bulto I just want a project to mess on with and in the end something that I like riding at the correct trial. I take it that no one has tried fitting different forks then as there has been no repies ???
  15. The whole bike is strange to ride to be fair but the front end steering and suspension are c&%p, forks have been stripped and cleaned and filled up with 200cc of 20w as recommended by inmotion. The forks still top out on acceleration but are not too bad on compression, the steering just wobbles and does not seem to want to hold a line. I know the bike is 37 year old so it's time for a front end upgrade as the std springs will be shot.
  16. Thats another option, fat bar conversion on the tope yoke and HFS inserts. http://www.suspensionhfs.com/en/content/en/bultaco-classic-trial-progressive-suspension-hfs-system
  17. Just finished my first trail on the Bulto tonight and all I can say if the front end is awefull Has anyone fitted a more modern set of forks to a Bult and if so what type and is the conversion easy ?
  18. Don't suppose you have size and a part number for the seal do you I'm changing mine tomorrow
  19. I fitted a carbon look plastic guard that's held on with double sided tape and it melted onto the exhaust took me ages to get the crap off, I have just ordered a Jitsie carbon one, not cheap but its better than damaging the Titanium front pipe.

    Suspension Sag

The Ohlins Tech who built my shock and Splat Shop told me too set the rear shock with 85mm of rider sag and the front forks with 45mm of rider sag, Could not achieve this with std Beta springs so I have a Ohlins rear shock with heavy spring fitted and I've just fitted a spacer to the front spring but I have not tested this yet.
  22. And a fair few of the shop owners seem to be at the same club trial as well I've got loads of bling ordered and its sat waiting to be despatched No patience at all when I'm stuck out here and I should be at said Club trial
  23. Cheers Jack, struggling to find one at the moment was wondering if I could get the Sherco one converted ? Canada280i but with what you said
