  1. I had my dealer set my bike up on the computer with the correct TPS voltage but with a 1600 rpm tickover instead of the 1400 rpm tickover the factory suggests, it ran great and started great maybe the higher tickover is a big help to starting ?
  2. I still say a lot of the starting woes are down to operator error My mate had a 2011 I had the 2012 his bike was hard to start mine not, swap bikes his starts ok mine does not You do have to get on the pegs and give a good kick even with the 9v and absolutley no throttle at all. Now the gear box :wall: :wall: :wall:
  3. I fitted the 9v to mine but I never really had to use it apart from when it was cold and the older the bike got the easier it started. My problem was gear selector shafts 2 snapped in 6mths ! both repaired no problem under warranty but very annoying and cost me a finish in the 3 day. I asked the my dealer the importer and even asked the factory what they where going to do about this known fault ...........no reply ?..................I asked if the new gearbox of the 2013 would fit the 2012 ........... no reply ? So I solved the problem myself I sold it ! now got a 2013 Sherco and very happy with it. Also be prepared for a shock when you try to sell your bike I lost a bloody fortune, I lost nearly half the price of a new bike in 9 mths of ownership. A lot of shops would not even take it in PX. Great bike but has major issues the factory need to sort out before they run out of customers.

Anyone seen any after market 2012 280i rear hubs ??? snapped a disk lug off today so need a new one and would prefer to get a bling coloured one rather than a std Ossa one. If anyone has any idea please post up. Cheers in advance.

frame on std bikes is the same on both years, I think the factory frame is made from a lighter material.

Raptors fit fine got them on mine, you do have to file away the excess alloy casting underneath the pegs so the swivell up when you hit a rock or what ever and you also have to drill 1 side of the peg bolt holes to suit the diameter of the std ossa bolt think its 12mm.

I've seen them myself but they where mail order they would fit with the std bolts know doubt. More expensive as well !

Sussed this myself now, Ossa been Ossa use a 8mm bolt with a 10mm location shoulder to fasten the rear sprocket on to the hub, so you cant use the standard Ossa bolts with other sprockets as they only have 8mm holes in them also the head on the Ossa bolt is bigger than normal and does not fit in the counterbore on after market sprockets. I have fitted a Talon 41 rear sprocket using good quality SS dome heads and locknuts with a 10 tooth front sprocket, this gives the equivalent of 3 extra on the rear over standard.

is there a big difference from a 11 to a 10 when comparing bikes ?
  16. taff_d replied to henrik's topic in OSSA
you adjust the front sag by using the 22mm nut on top of the right hand leg (the one with the red cap and the rebound adjuster) it adjusts the preload on the spring.

Anyone changed the rear sprocket ? I have been told that aftermarket 4 bolt sprockets need some sort of machining to fit ? what needs to be done ? Also anyone know if a 44 rear sprocket will fit onto a std chain ?

I have had a chat with Guys and my local dealer today about the spare rear wheel, he is using a 07 Beta wheel but you have to do loads to it to make it fit, swap the spokes from one side to another and get wheel and disc spacers machined up, basically not worth the chew on.

Drill a 3mm or 4mm hole at BDC to let any water or condensation out then just forget about it. That tip comes from just about all bike factory's so lets not start arguing about it !!!
