    Grip !

Have to say I was actually waiting on someone mention suspension, not saying it is or it's not, but even I can tell the rear shock on my sherco ain't the best. Anyway, I have taken all things in to consideration, and have turned my rear round, stiffened the preload, adjusted the rebound and also greased up the linkage while I was at it, and shall report back once I get a chance to get out again, probably Saturday.

    Grip !

tis a fair point, but I only thought the sherco 2011 was better than mine, tho did think the 250 gasser had more power than mine.

    Grip !

The skill of the rider isn't relevant here though

    Grip !

2009 Gasser 250, 2008 gasser 125, 2011 sherco 290. Think the gasser were on Michy's and wahtever was stock on the Sherco, mine is an IRC.

    Grip !

Was out for a wee play yesterday and had a shot of a few different bikes and noticed they all seemed to have more grip than mine on the same sections ? Running 4 in the rear, tyre is still good but the difference in my grip compared to the other bikes was quite noticeable....2010 290, any thoughts, ideas on this folks ?
  7. When you guys say wrong size of number plate, are you saying that the guys who do road trials need a number plate the size of a normal road bike ?? I know the answer sounds obvious but a huge standard size number plate just sounds and probably looks bizarre ??

    290 not running...

Well....it's running again, nothing really found though tbh, the Stator wires were rubbing against the frame bolt although not grounding out, a wiggle of some other wires and it ran again and a tightening up various earth wires. As I say, it's running again but not convinced we've solved the problem, but again, thanks for your help

    290 not running...

Got it fired up today after removing the kill switch, then after a few seconds it dies again, dies in a manner that is different to what it might if it was fuel starvation, for example, if it was struggling for fuel it would stutter/splutter etc etc then cut off, this just revs fine for a short time then just dies...

    290 not running...

Each time I remove then refit the carb it starts, but only for a few seconds then dies ???

    290 not running...

Found a loose wire coming from head back to the black box behind the head, problem is, that loose wire is now a broken wire. Since put a connector in and get a spark, not much of a spark mind but more than I had earlier, still not enough to fire it in to life though.

    290 not running...

There isn't a spark that I can see when cranking

    290 not running...

It's a 2010, and there is deffo fuel coming from the pump to the carb. Took the hose off from the carb and it's flowing freely into the carb

    290 not running...

Just put in new plug, ran for a bit then cut out again
  20. Stripped the carb yesterday, cleaned, back together, all running fine. Today, took the bike out for a play, all running fine, then it stopped and wouldn't start again.....me thinks, out of juice. Get's home, fills her up, but seems there was plenty fuel left in her anyway. Strips carb again, puts new fuel filter in, all back together, fires it up....then lasts about 5 seconds and dies again. Kicks, it starts then dies, kicks, it starts then dies..... Any ideas ???
  21. So go for Vee Rubber, cheap and cheerful and highly unlikely you'd be able to tell the difference in price while riding
  22. I really lucky where I stay in regards both AMCA clubs, I'm right in the middle, I also joined Dunfermline this year, so have that option also.
  23. I'd also add the fact that you can just turn up on the day and ride, as opposed to some SACU events where you have to post off entries and need to be in "x" amount of days in advance. On the what riders want, and I only speak for myself and maybe a couple other of my riding buddies, just to turn up and have a day out on the bike, nothing too hard, nothing that we won't enjoy, afterall some of us are self employed, and need to get up for work the following day.
