  1. On the 2010 swinging arm there is bit that hangs down that connects the linkage (excuse the pathetic term there) that has a bush and two bearing in it. the near side bearing looks like it's done, but not sure how to remove it ?? Any pointers on how to get this out, as I assume it can't be knocked out from the other side ??

Oh dear, conflicting opinions, such is internet forums I guess. Copey, when you say totally impracticable to re pack, what is the alternative then ? Buy a new silencer ??

Oh believe me, it was very hot, thing is, this will need cutting open now, where the bloody hell do you start ??

OK so no need for a re pack then you think ? It was just the excess burning off you think ? A good thrashing for a short run each time you think ? If so on all of these I shall proceed as directed.

Nope, same oil in as ever, 80 - 1, and was ridden pretty hard just before it started to melt the plastics and smoke like 'ell.

Following on from This topic my exhaust was smoking big time today, wondered what the problem was, as I had my usual mix, then someone pointed out it needs re packed, and when inspecting it, it was almost on fire, like had melted the guard and some of the mudgaurd, and was boiling hot. So, again, the question is, does this sound like a re pack job and if so, what would cause this on a 2010 bike ??

Hmm, tis raised it's ugly head again, however this time, I have only just done the linkage a matter of one trial and a couple of plays ago
  11. Well I shall counter what has been said about online auctions. From the Dundee area, I have travelled to Crawley, 20 miles North of Brighton, round trip of approx 1200 miles to buy an Aprilia Factory @

  18. Excuse my obvious ignorance, but can someone explain what is it about pre65/twin shocks that said trial wouldn't suit or vice versa as it were Is it the section lay out ? The land it's on ?
  19. Got my form for the Bob MacGregor today, hopefully get an entry and look forward to failing miserably on most sections both days
  20. Just the other week I had a problem starting the bike (see my topic) went on't t'internet asking all the questions, and everyone giving their opinions. Seemed like I tried everything, carb cleaned a hunner times, new plug, getting a spark, off with kill switch etc etc. Eventually when I took it to our cheif trials mechanic he wiggled a few wires and it fired up, hasn't stopped working since. Now I'm not saying that's what your problem is, but get someone to have a wee poke round at all your wires, earths etc etc, check the wires coming out the Stator are in good condition...yada yada yada
  21. I agree 100% with you you are saying, my comment was meant more as a complimemt to Gary rather than anything else, quite looking forward to watching him next week at the british.
  22. When I said the others, what I really mean is the other experts. I also don't need anyone to make me look stupid on a trials bike, I manage that comfortably myself
  23. Gary MacDonald is starting to make the others look stupid, even though they clearly aren't.
