This is great reading for a novice carb man like myself, but can someone tell me how you tell if your running too lean or too rich ?? Honest, I really am a novice when it comes to carb maintenance
-
-
That's an acronym not txt talk
He said it comes with 30 but said most folk put a 33 in as a 30 is more for warmer climes.
-
I hear Geordie lasses already have a lump in their throat
-
No not at all, but it's obvious my original posting went over the top of some people's heads
Go back to BF's post, and try and work it out
-
Ah ffs, get oo'er yersells eh
-
I was referring to billywizz
-
Yep, said like a typical southern softie
-
It's been cleaned, I spoke to the chap at Splatshop, I ordered parts from them, I spoke to the man from Dellorto, I am trying to cover all base's.
HTH
-
You tell em Mhari
In fact it would be less stressful if you just said it was a fix and let them be
-
Never ridden it, only been to watch it once and with you on the achievement side of things, but I know how hard the sections look, I know how bloody miserable the weather can be and know how tough the road riding and moors riding is, but saying all that, what have you got to lose ? other than a failure !
Go for it fella
-
Not sure what's in there at the mo. Just bought the bike and ain't running great, previous owner did say something about the needle not being right as he ran a different carb.
Ordered said jet and needle, cheers
-
Can anyone tell me what pilot jet and needle is run in the standard carb of a 2010 290 please ?
-
WOW, that's spooky, I've just had the exact same thing said in a txt from some weirdo
-
He had a Ti exhaust on it, removed it for sale separately.
I'm all new to this bike maintenance fella, I don't even know what reeds are
-
Plug looks fine, previous owner (last week) said the plug was brand new, it looks it.
-
Aye, cheers for that
Anyway, it's also not idling either, anyone care to offer some help ?
-
-
Maybe he/she didn't realise they had damaged your van !
-
Had my new bike out today and felt it wasn't picking up from the bottom very well, stalled it a few times. but given the power this bike has, I'd have thought it would've picked up better from the bottom.....anyway, when cleaning it I noticed the zorst had "blackened up" from the barrel, had a good look at it, and seems the previous dude has stripped one of the bolts :banghead:
So
1) Is this the reason it's not picking up great from the bottom or would the slow throttle be the reason ?
2010 290 btw

What's the difference in a support championship and a national ? Excuse my ignorance !
-
It's a beast, mine near flew over the fence yesterday
-
Nope, I mean the one at Altnafeadh opposite Bookil
-
See the bigger rock you took a bit to get over, well there will be a hundred of them to get over.....per section
Lagnaha last year....
