Have you tried cleaning out the full exaust system, it could be an excessive build up of oil through out the front and mid section.

Just phoned nigel birkett and you are right its 300cc in each leg but if its wrong take it up with mr birkett.

If you want to weld a petrol tank the best way is to wash it out with washing up liquid then fill with water. If you want the perfect finish purge with argon and tig weld it but you do need a/c tig.

The best thing would be to use autosol and a lot of elbow grease.

Whilst your on this subject i am right in thinking that you can use a mixture of gear oil and dextron auto transmission oil, if so at what ratios. The reason i ask is that i get a lot of clutch drag. Cheers Mercury

Threads on most new bikes are metric course. If you measure the diameter of the threaded bit it will tell you the size of the bolt. I think the bolts to the mudguards are m5, i used stainless button heads no sharp edges to catch hope this helps. mercury
