  1. Hi Patrik, I bought an Aprilia air cooled 280 in a box. Had some bits done and started to put it back together. In the box with the Gearbox bits, ther is a tensioner of some sort which I can't place. Nothing the like on the SWM 125 and 280's I've rebuilt so far. any ideas ? I can send a pic but I wanted a first thought. Wierd, I usually fathom things out but this has got me boggeled.

      Hello Phil,

      that is no. 239 755 the index spring and no. 248 977 the index lever assembly for the TXR 312 engine (definetly

      and may be the MKII of the late TX311) so you are swapping / mounting a very late aircooled mono engine to which bike?

      The trust washer is no. 227 800 16,2/21/0,4 I can't see, is missing!, the other item above must be no. 945 840 the locking ring DIN 471 15x1mm.

      The assembly should sit down right, the roller facing upward towards the engine casing.

      Hi Patrik, the engine was from a TX 300, no history available I'm afraid, all the other parts have long been sold. I'm building a 'Bitsa'. Do you have an exploded diagram of the parts or a link to where I can download it ?

      Hi Phil,


      that is from a TX300? Not the engine apperently, what about the engine number?

      I have something "inbetween", as the workshop and parts books of my Aprilia not in hand,

      see in the attachment.

      To the manual of the TXR the picture is showing inside the gearbox similar stuff,

      (Beside beeing of an newer engine not fitted with a rotary valve, so also the "new"

      set up inside, like the TXR 312 or very late TX 311 had).
