  1. I'd bet Lance is more than smart enough to understand the differance

in european and american cultures... And I'm also sure that if he put his mind to it or just wanted to play at it he could probably hold his own on a trials bike. I thought this thread was about the possable mainstream exposure of our beloved pastime , and you never know he might be a natural............

    It does happen !!!

    :(

    Glenn

  2. :( And I read you can get your choice of engines !!!!!!!!!!1

Fuel injected 427 chevy for the techies or a dual 4bbl 426 HEMI for the

pros and a catapillar D9 deisel for the torque hungry.......

    GGGGRRRRRUUUUUUMMMMMMPPPPPHHHH!!!!!!!!!

We all need one , no need to dab , it stands up on it's own !!!

    :thumbup::D

    Glenn

  3. And Just think of the impact on our sport if sports illustrated does a story about lance on a trials bike ... Talk about good exposure... If lance actually gets into trials events it would most likely do more for our sport than anything else ever has ! talk about getting the mainstream to take notice!!!!

And I read Richy Carmichael just got a gas gas to cross train on , just like the top European motocrossers have done for years!!!!!!!!!!

I've neverunderstood why even in alot of bike shops , no one has a clue as to what trials riding is...

But maybe that is why (deep down inside)Geoff Arron , Tony Avala? and the like put on their stunt shows at all the freestyle MX shows now.(besides the $)Is just to show trials to more people..........Cause we all know that going fast is easy, Slow control is much harder...(IMHO)..........!!!!!!!!!!!

    :thumbup::(

    Glenn

AND PARENTS might think if Lance does it , It can't be BAD!!!!

  4. :) Yes as a older Trials rider who started this long before the game changed to stop and hop ,I want to keep my old girl working !!!! I am amazed at what the top riders are capable of now , but I'm to old to stop twisting a wrench for a living and try to become a stuntman. And yes I've a few modern mods to the fantic but it will still kick a## on the bikes I learned on , and thats enough for me...

Thanks for the opinions, and was Bernie Schriber the point when technique changed?

    Glenn

  5. You Guys are making me want to sell my house and leave hurricane central and move back to Lake Arrowhead !!!!! I miss the mountains and rocks !!! (and my first wife!)

    :)

    Glenn

But I did grow up in new england and learned trials in the 70's there...

Maybe I just don't like SC.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. ;) Thanks for the reply's...

As little as I get to compete ,(hectic schedule, single dad ,3young kids,

who get jealous of my bikes sometimes...)I think NJB's and some new front

Springs from steve may be the way to go.

And steve has supplied almost all of the parts for my fantic !!! Now if I could only come up with a new set of source coil windings and a trigger for her

life would almost be complete :)

    Oh well back to work.

    :lol::)

    Glenn

And What Is a BUDGET!!! Don't you need money to have one of those?!!!?

  7. Looking at Falcons available localy and saw some info on NJB

expert? shocks, are they worth the effort or should I stick with what I know ?

:) Thanks for any and all veiws...

    Glenn

  8. No I didn't... as I'm a klutz when it comes to these keyboard & screen devices!

Andy if you would be so kind? and if your coming to tenn. for the world round I'll make sure you get a liquid refreshment... (the best mexico has to offer imho, pacifica, mmmm good)

    ;) Glenn

wait a minute it's on there !!! duh!!

  9. :D Thanks Andy for the TC logo stickers they arived today along with another

batch of michelin man stickers from here in the states. It's a thankless job you do for all of us in putting one of the best information sites on the web...

Thanks again for the effort, and thanks to r2w for his help to me too...

    ;) Cheers , well done!!!

    Glenn ;)

  10. :chairfall: On both of my 240 engines the clutch arm on the crankcase has been lenghtened, and they both will only work with the domino levers, because of the pivot ratio of the levers. I tried shorty lever on the clutch and couldn't get freeplay or clutch action only one or the other, but the short lever worked great on my brake with the braided stainless cables I had made.

So my levers don't match and my clutch lever looks out of place, but it works with one or two fingers just fine...

Have fun and keep your fantic alive !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Glenn :chairfall:

  11. :D Having ridden only fourstrokes in Trials (and enduros,desert...). And only competed on a two stroke in junior enduros when I was quite young.(Yamaha mini),the XL wasn't out yet!! I have never had a problem starting a 4stroke.

It's always just been a conscious effort to bring it up on the compression stroke and then go for it !!!!!!

I can't wait till I can afford a scorpa or sherco , But I always have been a Honda kinda guy...

And I'm Still getting used to the power delivery of my trustworthy 240 fantic that I restored to get back into the sport... that has changed so much from the days of my youth... (mid 70's !)

But it is still the most fun you can have on two wheels !!!!!!!!!!

Now ,NEW bike or Lawn mower?>?>? (Large John Deer Type,a few acres of yard!)

Well rewind the fantics stator windings for now :wall:

    cheers all :P:blink:

    Glenn ;)
