  1. Now we need more ideas they are STUCK out there and nopw that The Splashmaster is gone that will free up $20,000 and a 10 man crew that wont be setting up 100 ft high towers so now maybe the Bros can get some decent prop and practice time .It seems like fire is inevitable. Just dont want that burning sensation. The flash of their sparklers was timed such to distract Pat from a chance to perfectly roll out from his sky 180 flip He was 3 of 5 perfect in the lot.
  2. For sure great show but Awfully p****d at the taping not only did they screw up the HUmongous 12 ft straight up w/ 18 inch kicker they also showed the "family" walking out instead of Pat riding DOWN the crazy shed that Phil rode UP that was extremely tough . At leasst the INTRO and Judge and Crowd response blew all the othe r acts away Except mini ANNa The BROS really stepped it up unlike the judges who recycled old comments. Still all good, we even perhapsed a brief RINGO room party during the west coast show.
  3. Yes the 1st audition in Chicago that was not on TV they took a 3rd bike w/no front but since the NY and Vegas and LA trips were so much further, the amount of things hauled or shipped decreased. I agree that is always a well recieved stunt . I would like to see a few raised beams to 180 flip turn between and maybe back then front wheel hop from 1 to the other and back? Also something to do the Fajardo Giant tree bonk/splatter off of.I also like Pats ramp to ramp 180 flip w/rollback to another flip off platform. The best comment so far is the vertical sewer pipes and backup popup females. Still a few more weeks before they are done with this current round of putting through some acts of ?able taste or talent.
  4. SUPER Iguess Pat could have told me ,but no I embarass meself. I remember in the 80s TX had A WTC and Eddie Lejuene won a pair of freaky longhorns ,did they pay to get it on the plane or just somehow misplace them ,anyway my new topic will be about How come in about 6 years the Endurocross promoter has gotten into the X Games and US trials is still under all commercial radar. One beef w/ EX at X is they chose to run a womans class over the trials bike class ,I would say if they dont allow Ladies to ride trials biles they may not get much for entries. A better format would be a track designed to challenge trials bikes extreme enough to limit entrants to high EXP to Pro level.
  5. Man how the trials chat scene died since Craig and Ringo andLane have found other interests.Wondering why the great oil $ rich state of Texas couldnt come up with a purse to help the riders expense back home ? At least they didnt un necessarily risk the Pros health .
  6. Did he check with the Storz family 1st to see if they are ready to switch already also? Will the Beta 400 be the heaviest EX bike on the track? Otherwise things should be interesting hard to think a bike could suit him better than the Gas Gas did. ,
  7. The job of trialsmaster for this years Natc s looks impossible as far as PRO class goes ,even more disparity than the WTC results . It wouldnt work ,but if the top 3 had the stupid 60 second time limit to follow there may be some closer events. The FIM is seemingly trying to make trials nearly NO_STOP with out really saying that. How far weve come when in Portugal there were plenty of riders on course for just over 2 hr s total. To me that is a drastic and dismal departure from a reall gruelling 7 hour affair that has often been the case before this new (spectator friendly crap) of 2010 . I like the sooner cup format ok for some rounds ,and I am sure other WTC rounds will have normal long loops and take a more normal time ,I think the # of riders being less will take some time to figure out a more fitting lap time.
  8. Cope any 1st lap results on the EXP/PRO shhotout??
  9. In a short 24 hr period the original title alreadY needs re naming. Scratch NEAR and insert AT or ON ,to be coming home with the points lead for the 1st 20 some % of the season gone is absolutelY astounding. The craziest part is the kid hasn't individually ridden a WTC event for 12 long months ,if that isnt a gigantic disadvantage come up with a better one. I am so proud and even though have decided to not be as involved as before am still completely thrilled with the start of 2010. Again if you read this take the few minutes ( equivalent to mixing aND GASSING YOUR BIKE OR WALKING TO THE GARAGE FOR A FRESH COLD ONE AND POST A QUICK REPLY)
  10. After a so- so 1st round in Spain some of us wondered if maybe far too many quality events were missed for an American kid to be in the mix,but after a quick week of adapting Pat and his wonderminder put them right in the hunt . All I can say is WOW and all other superlative words you can think of. I challenge EVERY North American TRials fan to spend a minute and shout out with a huge Sherco thumbs up for them to go out and rock and roll the Junior class Sunday . Un believale a CLEAN DAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. 1 st lap scores today have him in 5th lets hope he can make a move and catch Moret, He is 24 vs Gomez on 10 so a win is not likely . Didnt see how many or who is right behind in points. Best of Luck for lap 2 Go Go Go
  12. Yes Pat has made it; I got a call from Ryan Young(his new/improved minder) and they were in rental car heading towards the event site after flying to Madrid from Chicago .So no worries for logistics on the team USA. Thanks for wondering Andy.
  13. So with a clubman line ,lets hope the support route steps up to something that doesnt require 30 plus cleans to win the event,it has gotten quite a bit too simple on days with relatively decent traction. I know people will say ride ES if you want more challenge . So now that will make for sections with 4 split courses? That will be less ideal also. If the Cayuta ,NY Natc is at Reeds farm lets hope they find a way to figure out some way to set a pro line that doesnt reqiure flight for life medvacs as the super steep virgin ups and downs were quite a bit too risky for what reward is on the line for those guys. Was that Will Ibsen crash a factopr in his retirement?
  14. I read that a young rider "fell" off the rock obstacle a couple times and missed parts of the course in vegas and the officials only docked him one overall position, that seems rather kind,no trials nazis working there.
  15. The EU would be much more enjoyable if 1/2 the people who smoke didnt, and if they could figure out how to freeze water and offer it for sale in plastic bags. We are acyually looking foorward to the TDN trip as I love mountain areas greatly/.
  16. I have no problems with the extra riders on the loop,or the $ they drop; I was more commenting on how silly simple many of the NY Sup sections were actually. I know first hand the importance of learning the ropes ,if you have a talented and committed rider ,than the sooner you can get a team established the better .
  17. Anyone else out there amused by the number of minders working with support class riders. The average time in the S line in NY had to be less than 15 seconds not much need for a timekeeper so I guess having someone carry the water is worth $40 to some riders.
  18. How about riders who rode the US series giving some feedback as far as awards and t shirts that the 4 different clubs came up with this season? I will Easily give the TTC overall clear winner on the Plaques they used ( obvious bias since Pat and I are featured in full color ado) ) next would be New York , the gold on black engraved plaque was quit tasteful. After NY comes VT ,the plaques they had didnt feature a larger size for the top place, which I feel is a good idea. Last by a mile was MWTA the first place winner got a nice bent etched glass , but everyone else got a finishers pin on weak steroids, I would have difficulty passing such a trinket out even at a club event. NOW on to the T shirts, Again TTC was awesome ( again Pat on the back with a chinese smile) Next was MWTA (not because of the somewhat unknown rider on the back ,just the overall look was tasteful) and a tie I guess was NY and VT as I cant determine if one was favored over the other. .
  19. I believe Trials will soon be at the X games but the riders will be racing and they will be on Enduro bikes and it may be called Endurocross. That sport has many trials riders and trials type riding and since the promoter has shown a huge success and growth rate I think Eric P. will be the guy to put the effort out that it may take.
  20. I didnt hear a word spoken as far as ANY class Champions ,unlike 08 in Duluth where they all got a huge podium/picture op , dont know why , seems like some mistake to not wrap up the season with an official presentation at all . I hope on the natc survey everyone gives a thumbs down to the staff for skipping the class champions one chance to thank sponsors and get a 'here, here" ; maybe they thought our roman candles would burn down the circus tent.
  21. Do the math again ;throw out Kieths 18 and he is on 132 v.s. 150 as they show pnts for the year .
  22. What happened to the Pros having 1 throwaway event did someone change the rule again??
  23. Sorry to hear the extent of the injuries sound a bit worse than the news of Will is going to be alright that we got at the trophy presentation. Having gone through a rotator cuff repair myself I know that he is in for a long road of recovery and plenty of difficult nights trying to sleep ,being younger and in great shape should improve the rehab though. I felt plenty of the Pro lines were absurd and had hoped the riders would look at the risk of some rediculous virgin turf -ultra loose and sketchy steep drops and just say NO ;since whatever safety committee exists must have malfunctioned .,maybe because it was near impossible to claw up the banks of loose debris on foot to get a look at the drops from a riding perspective. Also curious why not one class winner for the season was announced as has been common in past years?? Maybe a case of Government commonality of offering lesser services when revenues decrease?
