Maybe it's my perspective but I think the T&MX review was positive overall! The article said that it was a pre-production unit, so I guess that it was one of the 70 first units mentioned a few posts back.
The tester Woody Hole commented about many good features. Starting, riding position, weight distribution, rear shock, and front forks, with a special sounding exhaust. The negatives were weak brakes, bland graphics, less than

Well here I go again. Based on the lack of activity on this thread, everyone has lost interest in the SY250F (I have been researching elsewhere myself). We have had the carrot dangling in front of our face for over a year and no production bikes available to the public yet. So far 70 SY250Fs have been given to the distributors for testing (only one to the US). So once again I e-mailed Scorpa in France explaining my displeasure with the

I heard Scorpa was going to introduce the SY250F at the French World Round!

MT,
Once again I wish someone with recent Beta experience would step up, but not so far. I tried to make it simple but evidently failed.
Short and sweet the most likely problems are either stator (under the flywheel usually on the opposite side of the kickstarter, but this is a Beta (ha, ha I couldn

Charlie,
I am surprised that no one has jumped in here to offer advise, that is familiar with Beta motorcycles. In my response I am making assumptions because I have no experience with modern Betas. In general, most ignition systems work in a similar manner between brands. In the past motoplat ignitions (if that is what you have) have had a reputation for heat related failure, but that may have improved.
Skipping all details and assuming all wiring and connections are ok the two most likely problems are the black box (ECM, CDI or whatever others call it) and the stator. These two components work together controlling ignition timing. If Sara

In picture (4803) it looks like the rear shock reservoir next to the hot cylinder.
In picture(4803a)the production unit had a fuel pump mounted in this location. This component however, looks like a voltage regulator / rectifier to me.

All,
An additional consideration when picking names is the first letter of those names. I like the term Clubman but if we use Champ also the

It might be an interesting start to have different competition areas submit their list of the current classes numbered in order of difficulty. 1 difficult to 6 easiest including the names such as:
1. Champ
2. Expert
3. Advanced
4. Sportsman
5. Intermediate
6. Novice
The few so far are confusing to the brainless, like myself, but a list is very clear. It looks like some have started years ago with Expert, Advanced, Intermediate, and Novice, and then added classes to fill the club needs. Maybe STRA added a class between Intermediate and Advanced while others may have added between Novice and Intermediate so the names got messed up between areas. Also Champ got added (?) because of a need for a couple local (or semi-local) Pros.

So if no other customers have a production unit yet, purchasing one in the US any time soon seems unlikely?

I am fortunate to live about three hours away from TTC where I rode the support National on Friday and was wowed by the worlds best on Saturday and Sunday. I also was fortunate enough to take a couple of spins on the Amazing New Scorpa SY250F!! I have been dying to ride one and hope to own one soon. Does anyone in any country own one of these bikes yet, or know someone who does? So as the heading says SY250F Where is it?
I think my findings are similar to others:
It starts easy cold or hot.
I was immediately comfortable on the bike.
It was easy to balance and turn near and at the steering stop.
The clutch was progressive and easy to modulate.
The engine power was very smooth off idle and easy to control.
The engine and exhaust are very quiet yet the tone is inspiring.
The handling was predictable and very stable in the rocks and slippery stuff.
Fit and finish of the components was impressive.
Now if Scorpa will just ship some to the US!!

Headed to TTC to see the best in the world. I would like to have a list of the World, Junior, and Youth?(125) riders and their numbers. Does anyone have access to such information?
Thanks, Frank

Woody,
Thanks for the first impressions. I am dying to ride the SY250F and look, almost hourly, for new info. I am convinced that a four stroke is the trials bike for me. I switched to four stroke off-road bikes in 1998, with the introduction of the YZ400F, and I feel they have improved my riding substantially. I sold my big motor GG anticipating arrival of the new scoot and now am Trialsbikeless. Even though I really don

Some time ago I e-mailed Scorpa at the contact us list at Scorpa.fr questioning when the SY250F would be available in the US (never expecting a response). Last week I received an e-mail stating that TB would be riding the SY250F at the US world round and that after the event the bike will be available in the US. Guess they are holding out on us so that the bike can debut here with a very capable rider. So much for that $60 pre-entry!!

Here is a short video of Guillaume Laniel riding the SY250F thanks to Andy!! http://www.trialscentral.com/cms/showartic...?articleID=2081
Rumor has it that Tadeusz BLAZUSIAK will be riding one at the TTC event, but mine won't arrive till after.

Thank you for the riding info. Sounds like an impressive machine. I am constantly searching for anything about this bike. I have tried to read the Italian article a number of times and I become more confused after each reading. Can
