Thats because the only rocks at Mickley Junction are the ones that get brought there stuck in between the nobbles of your tyres! I would definetly put it in my worst list of North East trials. By the way, Rookhope is still the best trial, even though the waterfall was a bit too easy this year

Coming down from uni on sunday to ride rookhope trial, just wondered who else was going? In my opinion this is the best trial in the North East centre, well for the expert course anyway, lots of big steps, natural streams and the waterfall of course. Also bollihope(next week) and harthope are good. What's your favourite north east trial?

Not sure what level of rider you are but i feel the harder sections you are doing the harder and more bouncy you want the suspension. I ride british expert level and weigh about 12 and a half stone and find the suspension much better if you turn the damping right off on both ends and also wind the preload right up as far as it goes on both forks and rear shock. This makes the thing like a po-go stick which is good for flicking the bike about and also when you hit the big steps hard it never bottoms out. However, these adjustments can make the bike grip less and also bounce around more in rocky streams. The standard suspension settings work fine for clubmen riders so its just a matter of setting the bike up for your level and preferences.

it aint the trial thats around the motocross track. its right next to a train line, which comes as a bit of a shock when you are riding a section and a train comes whizzing past your front tyre! anyway, i have never been to another trial with more mud than is at this place! good luck if you havnt got a new back tyre!

What has steve, sam and that tony fella done this year? Shaun is a current world champion and in my opinion the only person who should get the wildcard ride. (and i would love to see him beat the spoiled brats that are the spaniards)

Enough with all the map rubbish. Get to longframlington, turn left and head to rothbury and you cant miss the place. Its up a farm road which you turn right onto at a very sharp left hand bend. There are always flags there and i'm sure if you get lost you will be able to follow some other lost sole!
