* Where's Smage Go From Here?
A little 'off-topic' but relevant all the less. While I was competing with James Dabill in the British Youth Championships I believe he was always riding a year in front of everyone - i.e. riding his first year of A-class when he was infact old enough to still be competing in B-class, Tom Sagar was doing the same I think. It clearly didn't do those two any harm by moving up to the bigger bikes/sections earlier, look at where they are now!

Quantum Of Solace
From the shape of the rear silencer I am going to go with a 4RT. Obviously made up to look like something else. The chain is on the left so it definitely isn't a beta.

Gearbox Oil
Had my 08 270 for a while now and it is due it's first gearbox oil change. I had trouble with my last rev-3 with the clutch slipping, some oils sorted it but made changing gear hard. I don't think this is the norm but want to make sure I put the right stuff in this one. What do people recommend? Thanks in advanve for any help.

Splatter Tips
For anything bigger than that you shouldn't be hitting it with your front wheel at all, the back wheel should hit first over half way up the step. To do this imagine you were on flat ground and someone asked you to loop the bike. Basically you just rev the engine, bounce on the suspension and then pull back and let out the clutch and pretend you were trying to do a back flip. Obviously the step is in the way so you dont do a backflip (if you do it right). As the backwheel hits let the bike ride up the step, so your backside is right over the end up the rear mudguard. As the front end starts to drop down pull yourself back up into normal riding position. hope that helps.

Endo's Nose Wheelie
Try tipping your handlebars further forward. It will give you a lot more leverage. Also the best technique is to give a little blip of throttle and clutch just as the back tire is leaving the ground, it helps to flick the back wheel up in the air. You could also try winding off the rebound damping on the rear shock to give it a bit more bounce. Hope that helps.

Low Point Of The Week
Same thing happened to my dad's van at the recent Consett DMC 2 day trial. A cracked wing mirror, conveniently at lever height, there was even skid marks in the grass where the front brake must of been pulled on where the guy had hit it. But nobody owned up to it.

North East Newbie Alert
You should get yourself to the Consett DMC 2 day trial this Sun/Mon near Frosterley, Weardale. They normally have a very easy, easy course which I'm sure you could manage and put your practice to good use. Kirk

2003 270 Rear Brake (help!)
Got a new 08 270 a few months back and after a couple of hours riding the rear brake went all the way down. By unscrewing the resorvoir cap and removing the rubber (as said above) it released suction which had built up in the resorvoir and gave a perfect brake again. This has happened on all the Betas I have had in the past. I also had to do it to my front brake resorvoir after a few trials once the pads etc had bedded in.

Suspension Settings.....
I have the damping on front and rear wound completely off, and the preload wound right up. Works a treat! Although probably not for everyone!

"warn 0%"
It's the same as when you were at school- The bad kids get more chances before any punishment because apparently they are being bad for the attention so punishing them is giving in to them Whereas the good kids get told off soon as they do the slightest thing wrong to stop them turning bad
