  1. Just a couple questions with regard to the series, do all riders require a season competition liscence or will there be a single day option? Also are registrations required for all CMA BC events, not sure if any of these are on private property or not? Thanks.
  2. The FMF packing that I've bought in the past for my 2 stroke was labelled as such, what might the difference be between the one marked 2 versus the one marked 4 stroke? I still have some of the 2 stroke stuff left over....
  3. Ah ha, Thanks Don!! I may just take it apart to reseal the seams then and call it good....
  4. Recently had a look at the muffler on my '10 4rt and it appears that it is leaking a bit where the two ends are riveted into the main aluminum body of the muffler. This is my first four stroke bike..... I'd be interested to know how often I should expect to repack the muffler and also what is the difference between four stroke and two stroke packing? Do 4 strokes get louder like 2 strokes when it is time to repack? I've only had the bike for a couple of months and I'm not sure if it is louder than it should be or not.
  5. I use the jitsie air filters as well and I use the plastic flange, without it I don't think you can be sure to get a good seal between the air box and the filter between the bolts. Have not had a problem with the filter ripping around the holes.
  6. Thanks for the input, I did check the rotor and it runs perfectly true and I did have to service the caliper as two of the pistons were not moving freely. Guess I'll get used to the noise.......
  7. I've just gotten a new to me 2010 4rt and I just been noticing the front rotor has more play on the bushings that what I think is normal. With the bike on a stand with the caliper off, if I spin the wheel slowly the rotor actually makes noise as it shifts position on the bushings as it is rotating. I'm even starting to notice some noise as I'm riding. This is only my second 'modern' trials bike to I don't have a huge wealth of experience but this seems like the bushings must be worn out? Anyone seen this before? When I have a minute I'll take the rotor off to see if that sheds any light on the issue but figured I'd see if this was a normal wear issue. Thanks
  8. I've got the same machine, pretty sure mine just has a hose that is routed rearward and ziptied together with the carb vent tubes. Unfortunately I can't go have a look at it to verify as I just sent it with someone to the coast so I can ride next week.... (Yay)
  9. Is it fine to ride there on Saturday as it says on the poster? I'd like to put around a bit in the afternoon if so, if not then I'd have to just poke around and act like a tourist....... I'll be riding an old Rev. Jay
  10. Unless plans fall apart I'll head down Saturday and camp out the night, many riders usually camp? Can't wait...
  11. At present we are planning to have junior, intermediate, advanced and expert. Could add vintage class for next year if there is enough interest, I ride vintage too but usually only at the two day Outlaw events where it is modern on the one day and vintage the other. Are you going to the Newport trial this week-end? I think I may be able to make it down.
  12. We are working on the course for this years event, similar format to last year with a trail ride and little wheels trial on Saturday August 31 and competition on Sunday September 1st. Hope to see you here! Jay
  13. I've got an 04 and my dealer told me the evo one wouldn't fit.... didn't actually try it though.
  14. Pindie, Did you use volume measurements for replacing the oil in each or the air gap measurement method? Not sure if your forks are the same as the ones I have on my 04' but I'll be doing that service in a week or so. Also when you say you clean the seals and wipers do you just pop the dust wipers off and clean inside or are you 'flossing' the seals as well? Please explain. Thanks.
  15. Try Outlaw Dave in Canada www.outlawtrials.com I'm sure one of them will be able to point you in the right direction.
  16. Just from looking at the photos of your case you should have one concern covered and that is that it won't be leaking. I would also be concerned about how smooth all the surfaces of the water pump assembly are when you are done your repair. Even though the aluminum isn't porous enough to leak and cause you problems in that respect, if the inside of the pump housing isn't nice and smooth you may run into the problem of turbulence around the impeller and reduced cooling because of it. I would also consider putting in the costa parts aluminum impeller kit. I installed the kit on my rev and it works better that the plastic stocker.
  17. The first ever Ymir trials event is in the history books now and from all accounts it was a great time had by all. The weather was perfect for both days and the evenings cool for hanging out by the camp fire. The Saturday trail ride saw about a dozen riders in two groups and we all got to see some spectacular scenery. We had twenty two riders registered for the competition and six for the little wheels event. A huge thanks to Pete and Zoe Bustin for hosting the event and thanks again to all people that helped out with scoring, trophies, food, firewood, photography, taking down the sections, the trail guides and Main Jet Motorsports. Thanks so much to you all!! And of course thanks to all the competitors who travelled all the way to Ymir and made the week-end a successful one. Best wishes to Pete for a speedy recovery, we couldn't have done it all with out you!!! Hope to see you all again next year. Jay
  18. I've used standard 1/4 inch line and inline filter on mine...
  19. Hope I'm not too far off topic but what about front mudguards, I've got an 04 rev and I find the front fenders really brittle. Have broken two so far... I was checking the front fender on a new evo and they seem far more pliable and the bolt pattern seems the same so I thought I would put an evo front mudguard on my rev. has anyone tried this?

    Clutch whine

My 04 270 does the same thing, clutch works perfectly but does whine a bit. Since it isn't very loud I thought it was normal but I'm interested to see what other members have to say about this....
