thanks guys does an m6 thread mean they won't work? and do you know the specs for the head bolts. and do they need to be titanium? baldilocks- a guy at the trials i go to rides expert level in trials and enduro and has used these for years whith no problems. must have been a different make on yours ben

hi guys in july my dad and i purchased a gas gas tx270 1998 the owner had bought it new and used it every 1-2 months at clubman level. so nothing extreme! anyway he stopped trials as he was too busy and stored it for 10 years whith the same fuel in! about 2 times a year he would start it and let it idle for a few minutes. then shut it down. when we got it would barely run. then other "projects" came up and so was left until mid august when we stripped the carb down and change the gearbox oil cleaned filter etc etc then put fresh fuel in started third kick. so heres it running around for the first time in 10 years! the bike is immaculate (no scratches/dents) and has nothing wrong and rides so smoothly. enjoy ben http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HHLnbtgH7Cs this was filmed in august

Hi guys Found these http://www.pro-bolt.com/aluminium-engine-kit-gas-gas-pro-red.html#.UK_zemtYCK0 I want to get them but I heard a guy saying at a trial that you have to have titanium ones for the head instead of alliminum.it says " full engine kit" so Iam Guessing if I need titanium ones they come whith in the kit? I think they will make the bike look epic If anyone's got some already- put a pic up:) Ben

Hi Dom I didn't take The clutch cover off and neither of the two things have happened that you mentioned. But when I sent the bike of I had just changed the gearbox oil before it went . and it had NO coolant in it Because the rad had a hole in it.

Sorry - just looked at the bill and they said it had no coolant in because the fan had made a hole in rad. So would not be what BESTRCPILOT posted above. It also says that they put a new water pump o ring. Could they of messed up the pump seal some how. Thanks Ben

Hi all I've just had a new piston kit put in because the radiator had worn a hole in its self over a few years (fan) - and had not cooled the engine which ruined the piston;( Any way - they sent the rad off to be mended. (before i sent it to them i had changed the gearbox oil after a trial and not used it since) Got it back last night .and started it up and rode round for a few minutes this morning And the gearbox oil was white after the ride. I am guessing water in the oil? When they took the rad out do you think they could of damaged the water pump /seals? If so its going straight back! Is this cheap to mend? Thanks Ben
