  1. Sooty, You wouldn't have a copy of the fitting instructions for the rmlightening ignition in English by any chance? Cheers Paul

    Finding SWMs

Richard Allen at Allen's Used Trials spares usually has a second hand SWM trials bike for sale, and a phone call to Martin Matthews at Motoswm might find you an enduro bike, He had a nice TF1 for sale last month?
  3. Not sure, but maybe the fibre plates bite better than the all steel set up and therefore don't need as much spring tension hence the smaller stack height? Pure speculation though, I would put them in and try them?
  4. I ran 360mm shocks on my 242 and loved it. Wish I had not traded it in for a 300 Fantic, 242 was a better bike for me!

    Climber Sprockets

Hi Ross, 44t was a disaster. Any slight amount of throttle and the front wheel was in the air. I can post it to you if you want to try it? it was good to meet you at Martins stand on Saturday. Cheers, Paul
  6. How heavy is the original flywheel?

    Climber Sprockets

I hope so, three teeth normally makes a big difference on 520 chain.

    Climber Sprockets

I've got a climber bottom end in a SWM with 10-41, and that is fast. Have just ordered a 44 rear.
  9. Someone on fleabay is breaking a gori at the moment, might be worth a try? Giles, I have had a jumbo tank restored at Holab Concepts near Evesham with good results for not much more than the cost of a decent paint job.
  10. The later plastic tanks were an orangey red when new, and not particularly shiny due to a semi textured surface. I've had a Plastic Mont tank painted but over the last three years it has bubbled and lifted in various places. if you are thinking of the plastic renovation route I can recommend Holab Concepts near Evesham. They did a tidy job of renovating a plastic SWM tank for me and the cost was not to bad at all.
  11. My entry is in, looking forward to the final round of a great series, and a nail biting finish for the Historic Spanish clubman class!

    Swm Gear Lever

Paul Wilkinson, the guy who runs the military can am website has some nice pattern gear levers in black, slightly longer than the SWM gear lever, which give a nice positive gear change.

    Montesa 349

It wont do with that WES on it. I tried one, and it went straight on ebay, choked the motor and it wouldn't rev!
  14. It really is worth the effort to move the footrest position back and down a touch. I've gone 1/2" back and 3/4" down, using SM products footrests, coupled with 30mm bar risers it has transformed my MH350.
