Montesa 315 Engine Rebuild Cost?
I rebuilt mine this time last year with all genuine bits from sandifords, eg mains, seals, piston kit, gaskets total bill was £514 most expensive part was the crankshaft they don't do a conrod kit so had to have a new crank @£195, barrel replate was £140 the rebuild was worth every penny in my opinion they are a fantastic bike love mine to bits as mentioned in a previous post http://www.langcourt.com/page16.html for replating barrel

google bikersrest .com for a practise ground £5 a day, something there for everyone to ride- Tlr 200
- Tlr 200 What Are They Like
I've had one for about 3.5 years now absolutely bullet prof engine but keep the oil changed regular as the cam runs in the head not on bearings and once a tear clean the oil spinner out, as for mods the main one is repositioning the footrest down and back about 25mm as for altering the steering angle unless your riding on harder routes don't bother. I've fitted 400mm betor gas shocks to mine and I find they work well for £100 shocks plus being longer than the standard 200 ones it raises the rear a little making the steering a little better, I use 5w or 7.5w oil in the forks and 10/44 sprockets. yes there are better t/s bikes out there but reliability wise you better a TLR http://www.trialscentral.com/forums/gallery/image/3549-tlr-200/- Tlr Mono
im not sure 4stroke, problem being bob is getting on age wise and he haves trouble remembering all that he has done over the years but it sounded like it was all 250s, funny thing was the first trial I rode the bike I just happened to park up next to bob as he was unloading I said look what I got his words were "bugger me" I aint seen that bike for 20 odd years that was chris suttons bike!- Tlr Mono
bob gollner himself confirmed that this was ridden by chris Sutton, as it has been mentioned before the rear shock was made by falcon, bob told me that the head was fitted with bigger valves and a hotter camshaft but the gears were standard 250 and not changed unlike the 200 were.- 472696 3730295572666 1790502667 O
